When I Dream
I'm in awe of the visions you show me 'neath a pale, crystal slice of the moon. What your free-flowing nightscapes array forth that have caused all on earth to so swoon. As I gaze from my shelter of safety what fine words might your wise tongue imbue? While I ponder my place in the cosmos, would night's voice speak my dialect, too? From your heavens profound and forever would you spy me and know me a friend? Would you shine forth your cool light at nightfall, and then bid me to fly and ascend? Since obscurity, darkness, and shadow are the reasons I cower in fright, while your luminous moon reassures me to forget all my fears and take flight. If I mounted the stars on a moonbeam might I hold the whole world in purview? Would I witness you wane before sunlight and recede as each bright dawn renews? When I dream of the moon and pure starlight am I silently asking of you, let me climb and ascend in your night world bidding all of my fears an adieu. When I Dream 4-10-15 Anapest in form
