Momentum
The portals have echoed the memories of the past The greens have waved their hands in approval The humming birds and butterflies have wished us luck While the velvet aisle witnessed the triumphant march… And the time has come! Finally, everything I have shed has proven its worth, The droplets of sweat have turned to karats of gold, The ounces of tears transformed into a dignified sword, The splotches of blood reckoned to life. Now that I have set foot in the podium Where anything starts and everything begins— I am apt to share the gold I have dug from sweat, I am apt to wield the sword I have shaped from tears and I am apt to bequeath the life I have victored from blood. This is what our march is all about— We stumble and fall, but we need to rise, We MUST stand tall. (Written for Sorsogon State College 2007 Yearbook back when I was in college)
