A few senses
Skin so soft as it's been left untouched. Love woven baskets so full, but still no one to receive my seeds of love. Thoughts of spoiled parts which tempt invalid ideas, invoking false belief that this orifice is forever damaged, preventing hope and faith's permanent residency. Then I remember sometime past December, I bore the witness to new life, outside my door with its home snuggled behind leaves creating shelter from the rain and warmth for night. Amazing how awake we can be. What a beautiful daily present allowing my presence to see the peace she gifted me. I was alert enough to watch this momma bird land in my tree, then it picked a branch, built a nest and nurtured its babies her best. All while I was denying faith in a higher power she unknowingly reminded me this is just one moment in the presence of many hours. I began to see her come and go twice a day. She would come back to feed the babies who eventually grew, flew out her nest and away they did go. The days that followed her baby's first flight, I saw her near the rooftop, her fast flapping wings creating the prettiest patterned light. A moment of calmness to admire her life, she was bringing me a clear message from God to my eyes. To think if I wasn't awake, I would have missed that sight. The deliverance of my God's hope and bright might.
