The Book Army
See them walking down the street in droves with books tucked underneath their arms making long strides and wide steps walking in clusters to seal the final deal. They are moving in a synchronized rhythm as if they were singing but not a word came from their lips but the suppressed tension forced a miraculous smile and burst a sudden flame in the sky. It was good to let the pressure out before the spirits began to shout, to restore the calm before the predicted storm. See them moving around the bend with turkey, fries, and hen; they are carrying a bag laden with books dating back from creation to the twenty first century. They have read them several times with a big heart and muscular mind and they believe that the message is divine. They marched determinedly into the unknown with knowledge stuck to their sleeve and gown and information glue to their lips. They had one purpose in mind and that was to revive the reading clan, and drive the destructive out of the land .They want to re-shelves all the ban books and motivate the children to return to school and teach them how to cook. They found a comfortable spot on the ground and start marching around the town. They gather the people together and read a long letter from some children that dropped out of school and the teacher that broke the golden rule. A sudden silence struck the air and all of a sudden everything become still and everyone was in harmony with the cloud. Traffic came to a stop; the wind stopped blowing and everyone could hear what the letter was saying. I hear sniffles and groaning and then it changes to mourning and then changes back to weeping and then to bellowing. Mixed emotion saturate the air and the people began to share. They listened with curiosity and with, deep anxiety, the letter ended but the sobbing continues and the people were motivated to get even with the wind. They spread the message around the town and everyone came together from every corner some without shoes and those that refuse to go to school all marched down to the voting booth and mark the X to vote out book banners and education disruptors’, and election deniers out of the town. Oh what great injustice was done to the working woman in the town painful years of sacrifice was met with great surprise. When the results were read tears of joy began to flow and justice was served all around the little town. All book banners, education haters, religious loudspeakers were driven from the town.
