My Path To You
"The sounds of Earth is the music of my soul." A beautiful path I travelled, An oasis I have reached, You were, my love, waiting for me, I waited for you too. There were rocks which were rough on my feet There were thorns on the flowers, which pricked me to bleed, I stumbled a few times, But I didn’t stop, I didn’t cry, I knew you were waiting for me, I waited for you too. My path was uneven, My journey was tempestuous, My love was strong, My gaze luminous, The champagne light of autumn, mysterious whisper of twirling leaves, The turquoise waves lapping on shore, chirping melody by a tiny hummingbird, elusive dewdrops on lotus leaves..quivering, Earth's music envelops my heart, I knew you were waiting for me, I waited for you too. Notes: When writing a poem with romanticism as my theme, I thought of the legend of Radha and Krishna, the eternal lovers, from Hindu Mythology. Radha used to meet her beloved on stormy nights, when on the way, often her feet used to get pricked by thorns, and bleed. She never stopped. Their love and devotion transcended eternity.
