I didn't know You much back then, mostly I just feared You; But You knew me although to me You never did appear to. We were poor when Mom left Dad, I didn't understand; But I had what I needed extended by Your hand. My mother never taught me much, she wasn't very bright. She never did take me to church so You brought me Your Light, Through neighbors who came over inviting us to come, And Mom said I could go with them, she didn't want to come. Many times I've stumbled, You always pick me up. Even when I didn't know t'was You who filled my cup. You've always been there for me though I deserved it not. You're patient and You're faithful though I fail You a lot. I don't know how to tell You how much You mean to me. No words come near describing Your faithfulness to me; So I'll just say I love You, I hope You know how much; For though I'm weak Your love is strong You see we don't lose touch.
