My love is gentle, but He awakens me urgently Least the cares of yesterday Lurking at the bedroom door Steal my heart Leaving Him yearning for my first attention Again! My eyelids flutter My first thoughts are of Him I can feel his powerful presence I nestled closer into his strong arms Deeply inhaling his sweet savour It’s like heaven My heart soars as his aura fills my being I turn ever so gently in his arms Soft warmth permeates my being I remember the night’s events All the turmoil and pain I can still hear his tender voice whispering “I will keep you in perfect peace” His breath caressing me as He whispered again “You will lie down and sleep and wake again my love For I will keep you safe and sustain you” I burst forth with inner praises Ignoring the stirrings of the others These mornings belong to me and my love After all, Isn’t this the reason for the containment? No more excuses to dash out of bed Barely a good morning kiss He needs and has my full attention He did say that He is a jealous one And that I should have no other beside Him So I laze in his presence Just to be filled with his essence Now I am strengthened I kneel at my bedside, Overwhelmed with unspeakable gratitude I do not deserve such attention So I give him all my adoration As I say, “Thank you Heavenly Father Your Presence is everything to me!”
