Hanging From a Thread
I'm hanging from a thread I'm on the edge of a precipice The heights are unfathomable The depths unreachable A step will mean a fall I'm hanging from a thread My death is near certain I'm stranded in the desert with a thirst I'm drowning in the waves of a shoreless ocean I'm sinking in a mire of mud I'm standing in the sky Without wings, nothing flies I'm on the brink of a fall A cliff with no ending Is surely my fate I'm hanging from a thread Without hope. There's One who rescues climbers One who quenches thirst A Lifeboat from the darkness To raise you from the depths Strong arms to pull you up When your clothes are caked in mud As He walks on water, so He does the sky He'll catch you when you're falling Your soul will never die Have I gone too far Did I step off the cliff I'm hanging from a thread Did it snap? am I gone? Will He throw down a rope Or am I past hope?
