Never Judge a Book By Its Cover
“Mightn’t happen to have a piece of cheese about you now?” Of all the treasures in the world The kind I most prefer Are small and square A bit worn, but held in loving repair And though they may fade And be a little torn All the sparkle I need Comes from the pages in between. The truth they have foretold Their memories bought and sold But they spring to life once opened and read They are a joy to behold Lined up in neat little rows on shelves As though they were made of gold Some are short others long You can spread them out like leaves on a lawn Quick ! There’s not a moment to waste Once read, They stay with you And can never be replaced You can travel the world And never leave your room Filled to the brim With tales of both time and space They take you on journeys you never need make.
