Poem
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It's rather dark and bleak in here and I think I've worked out why; We've nothing left to talk about - the conversation has run dry. We can be quite a jolly bunch full of rhymes and rhetoric But time ticks slow and now we know in the end... we're just too thick. So we're feeling quite neglected 'cuz in this summer weather we're forced to lie inside this drawer and be of no use whatsoever. We can see that we're not needed that we're way too hot to handle. I wouldn't be much good, alas in a flip-flop or a sandal. But to be abandoned and forgotten that really isn’t quite fair. We're top-notch, high grade and tailor-made with love and camel hair. And though we're not the brightest and we grumble at our dull color, we feel some effort could be made to make our lives a little fuller. Who would choose to live this life? Well, yes, I often blame the man who made me just to send me here. Was there a point or plan? Oh! How I long for winter days; to be useful again and cute and tenderly cling to some left foot inside a welly boot. To hear the crunch of firm fresh snow and fight the freeze would be so great to play outside, have fun. Get the job done. - That's my destiny and fate. Then I'd head back to join my teammates and in a friendly scrum we'll huddle and chat with glee on the mystery held in the coldest wettest puddle. For now, we must just wait here keeping quiet and still and humble. That's not so easy, as you know so we allow ourselves to grumble. And if I had thumbs, I'd twiddle them but, I don't (how sad, how droll!) So instead I've used the time to write this poem to bare my sole.
