*** Lunacy Loo Flies *** Beauuty, in a creature from Among the most high; In rythmic song while in her flight Witnessng the realities and fancies Circling the clouds — Proud of her ancient, legendary form, gone lost into that certain dimension of Nature’s Blessed running for all immediacy While she Sprang between the limbs of lush trees, So completely freedom-inspired One afternoon while She stroked through her mussed, flared crown. And then, after shaking all over Her jeweled, semblant red, sequin-bright, Broach- brushed underskirts, primed for Exploring the landscape while sounding A chorus new to her lyrical psalming — In the midst of her swirl of awesome flourishes, She was moved to declare, “I’ll wear no more seasonally knit displays For the memory-catching moments That other journeying life Might find it all regal to behold through me, But, I, Loo, choose to travel my Oncoming days, Each, morn to moon, Henceforth, Living out my destiny -Being a truly found-treasure Of all that’s verdant, growing In flight and song — Overlands, Between the earth’s dividing seas, Which God found ‘Good.’ While I wish to be portrayed In the vignette of my life, Near to all my cousns worldwde — Their being draped, being ribbon-wrapped All around Everywhere luminous In brightly ringing rainbow colors… In sight of Creation’s unlimited imagination, With stardust dazzling across my bodice And Divinity’s graced angellic gleams That will guide, will reach from within my spirit On through my scoping outlook, flickering My soul to glisten ahead, My dark, marble eyes showing white points Directed everywhere Enroute and aloft — So these — my sleeked Cardinal feathers may Combine To elegantly surprise the scenes and themes Of my journeying Flights, which the day’s lauding light Will bear me Continually for coming generations — Radiant For wild, never-ending reflections.” She concluded resolutely, “I’m moving over The countryside for all good — where I gather up springtime’s tulips’ red petals From golden pastures, and moving again cloud high From where I dive to catch their falling smiles.. I’ll sleep in valleys and bathe beside creeks To raise My young to defy capture beyond the sighting Of our tossed garnet, Breeze-borne flights, Seeding hints Of the glorious, divine hours to come. ————————————————————————- As Loo became lost in time, during my recent long, difficult hospitalization, I was “lost” to being & knowing myself after 4 general anesthesia procedures. Ayers.R, pIn this poem, Loo becomes the metaphor for the lost Sally finding myself in a new flight & song of self-acceptance, including my human frailties, failures and beauty…Bless you all! Sending hugs, prayers…with profound thanks to Jim, who saved my life again, encouraging my lost heart to want to live when i’d no idea i was even meant to live or where i was. Love you, Jim, always! (Written & dedicated to the ever possible fellowship of hearts…) (c) sally young eslinger 5/1-5/5/2023 Thanks be to God
