Poem
I witnessed a man at heaven's gate As I peered on to the other side. He looked perplexed as he gazed At Beulah so vast and wide. There in his hand he clutched a writ And sang "You have to let me in. This is my pass and I saved it For it's eternity's invitation." I have held this dear for 40 years Since the day I heard of the King." "Give Him all your faults and fears" They said, "Give him everything!" "So here I am , with all that's mine To experience His grace, Can someone please help me find Him? For I want to see His face." "I am happy to assist you sir", a child's voice rang out loud. Is there anything you remember? he asked, stepping out from among the crowd. Only the one who shared the truth ,he said God made a way for me. He was a man who saw my worth past all life's poverty. I remember eyes piercing and words caring as he was sharing about God's will for man. But other than that, I am not sure I'd know him if he walked up and shook my hand. What about the King? The boy asked, do you know anything of Him? Only what the Good Book says, as those in church esteemed, The preacher said "serve and give" to show that I was redeemed Oh I spoke out loud to Him a few times, but never got a reply, So I figured I'd save things up and have a discussion when I die. Anyway, about seeing His face, I am ready to greet Him now. "I am He", the little boy said, I guess you overlooked me somehow. At that moment the boy was transformed before opened eyes, He became a wounded lamb with a crown much to the man's surprise. "Welcome son", Jesus spoke as he smiled lovingly At the sound of His voice the man dropped to his knees crying out," Finally My Savior has spoken to me!" A gasp from the crowd and the man looked around saying, "Oh Lord I have so much to say." Jesus, the God of creation whispered "I was listening on the very first day, and answers were coming your way, but hearing from God was to some very odd, so they dismissed my voice right away, they taught you I had nothing to say, But I did and I do, because I love you, and would have it no other way. And to hear my voice is to make the choice that I am alive and living you see. from talking with me, you will taste my personality, not based on another's idealology , whatever face I happen to be." The man looked up with tears in his eyes ,"You mean to say we could have talked that very first day I was told that your love was true? Oh I wish I had known I could seek you on my own and not answer to any but you. Had that been the case by now our friendship would be forty years true, and I would recognize you!" What a dream, this dream I dreamed.
