TO A PRISONER
O prisoner, in your cell so drear,
Your thoughts must wander, far and near.
Though your life's restricted here,
The spirit's free, and ever near.
Your situation may seem quite dire,
But freedom's found, in heart's desire.
For though you're bound by chains and bars,
The soul can soar, like soaring stars.
While others walk the earth so blind,
Your mind's awakened, you'll find.
That prison's not a sentence grim,
But a time to seek the soul within.
So ponder on your life's long journey,
And make it more your own.
