That Friday Feeling
Driving to work I can't believe its true
its no wonder I'm no longer feeling so blue
the dark cloud over my head finally disappears
knowing that the weekend is so very near
The smiles I see are quite genuine
casual Friday, everyone chewing gum
coworkers all having a certain warm glow
no work for the next two days we all know
Counting down the hours, minutes and seconds
till I can clock out which will be a blessing
even though I'm work weary I feel elated
looking forward to some rest and relaxation
Standing before the facial recognition clock
the work day crept by like a slow tick tock
finally its time to show my face and clock out
with the clock not recognizing me I pout
Third time is a charm they always say
as the clock finally recognizes me without anymore delay
walking fast to my car I slide behind the wheel
driving home ready for a leisurely meal.
