Slick

"I don't want a cat", I told Slick, But her usual style was to trick. So I went to the door, Finding outside one more, Being denied which cat to pick. This poem is dedicated to my former sister-in-law.

I love cats too, and the cat in the poem is well and happy. Shortly after I got her, a neighbor's cat beat her up. The initial veterinary cost was over $750. I had to eye dropper medicine into her mouth. She is recovered. Thank you for enjoying my poem. But if another cat arrives, where did you say your daughter lives?

This is an irresistible offer, Hilda; it's intriguing how that operates. May you and your sister-in-law engage in a fruitful dialogue. It prompts me to wonder if something dreadful occurred or if she is simply a previous culprit of such behavior.

This is what she does. I never see her anymore. But I've kept the cat. Thank you for reading my cat story.

I still have this cat. She is well adapted. I hope I live longer than she, or she will be looking again.

:)) Difficult to say no to a homeless, domestic critter -- especially little adorable kittens...who unfortunately grow up to be cats. I am owned by two.

I'm glad you gave those cats a home; however, I didn't get a chance to say no. The cat was dumped without food or water, and with no knowledge of when we'd be back. The cat was in a dangerous environment but Slick didn't care.

Having a pet can seriously impact one’s freedom. Still those with pets probably feel the benefits outweigh the consequences. In your case it would have been nice to have the choice.

The cat is a good cat. It's irresponsible of people to dump on others. I have been giving homes to animals for long time. Thank you for reading.

Thanks for reading. I understand fear of dogs, but lately I've been hearing of fear and dislike of cats. They are small and vulnerable, but maybe they have enough tiger genes to strike fear. I've always had animals, and I care about my cat..

Hilda, funny that a gift like this is an offer without a choice. I hope you had a good talk with your sister-in-law. I'm wondering if she's former because of that kind of behavior or if something bad happened. There's always more to the story when a limerick is the delivery vehicle.

Such people are domineering. They ruin happiness. There have been many of these types in my life. The cat is a joy. I had wanted to do spur of the moment travel, but can't with a pet. I love the cat .it just wasn't my idea.

Quite a fun limerick. It's been ages since I wrote one. Very witty.

Hi Hilda , this made me smile , all my life I've had a long term fear of cats, now I have one who follows me around like a little puppy , and wakes me at 04:30 every morning to play, the other I rescued as it had no home, they are such clever animals but I wouldn't be without them . Daniel

a witty Limerick, Hilda! I was once tricked into having a cat....I grew to like it despite the fact that it was a 'grumpy' old cat :-) enjoy your evening, hugs, Sara
