Self-Existent Light
they say humans are a little
bioluminous my light shines
from my heart. it makes
shadows on the people i
stand with entranced by the
chanter whose voice sends
waves through our blood
everything has its tides
ancestral fires were carried
on the trail of tears to our
new home and the flames
never died the heart chakra
embodies the principle
of rhythm i turn on the red
light of my heart and bat
my eyelids in the shades of
rose i dance and you’re mine,
my light shines through you.
