record broken

Not ready to be thrown away, like those memories made it's not broken, long as it's loved. Can't you feel them? lands and grooves in circle's run.. feels I've known you since the day you were born, though the cover's a bit worn we both' ve known better days under the same sun. Just because a record has a few scratches don't throw it away. this goes for memories too, even the ones that skip. There's a revival in analog warmth with wide-eyed dynamic range, even the phonograph' preamp hum & hiss. Even the ones that skip.. you just might miss, you just might miss, even the hum & hiss.. you just might miss.

I still play my vinyls, find I am often surprised of the ones I have, even a catch of old 45s, even the ones that skip.

a delightful read! I enjoyed the comparison of old vinyl records to memories. Your poem sparked my own memories of all the records I once owned and eventually sold erroneously thinking they were no longer 'cool' and had been permanently replaced with CDs. Oops, I was wrong. I did enjoy your poem, though Have a pleasant evening, Sara

Wonderfuk poem and its comparison to life! I have tons of recds here from my Mom and Dad, they were married in 1935, so they are those huge ebony records, i cannot part with the, my Dad cherished them! He even has a polshing cloth for them. Jew things are made cheaply and look like it, but they dont have memries we recall. A FAB from Pangie xx
