Our Secret, Florida Garden
We ventured on a secret walk
down pebbled paths of leafy palms,
and at the end a lonely dock
called to us, creaking through the calm.
A warm spring day seduced us, so
we ventured on a secret walk
to marvel where the orchids grow
between green fern, oak moss and rock.
We silently admired the flocks
of herons, egrets, and cranes as
we ventured on a secret walk
near ripples of blue-gold topaz.
God’s garden swayed in balmy breeze,
with pentas, sage and hollyhock.
Where brilliant Monarchs flit through trees,
we ventured on a secret walk.
