My Dream Vacation
Close your eyes my child and come along with me
Place your head upon the pillow, rest and you will see
You need not buy a ticket; no seat on a train
There will not be a stewardess or pilot of a plane
The journey is a swift one it commences as you sleep
Take your mind and your heart to somewhere so, so deep
The landscape is picturesque, vivid colors all around
Green grass, pink magnolias, pebbles grey and brown
The caretaker adorned in white carries a golden staff
Silently motions us to follow with smiles and a laugh
The gates are heavy metal, free standing in clouds of white
Peace overcomes us there is no need for fright
Two baby cherub angels help him to guide the way
As they dance upon the clouds their little wings will sway
Grandma approaches slowly, the same apron on her waist
Grandpa hugs you tightly, time is short make haste
As morning light approaches keep your eyes shut tight
Reflect on all your family dear that you have seen this night
Heaven is more beautiful than any place you’ve ever seen
Visiting our loved ones there comes only in a dream
