Hiroshima Bombing
In Hiroshima, a city of peace
A single bomb of nuclear release
The victims' screams, a haunting sound
A level of destruction so profound
A Japanese city once so full of light and life,
Turned into the destruction that filled the sky
The destruction of Hiroshima untold
The pain of the victims could not be consoled.
A mushroom cloud in the sky,
A sight that no one can deny.
The people of Hiroshima were left in grief,
The horrific event they had to cope with.
The memory of the bombing still lingers,
A reminder of the pain and suffering it brings.
The flames and smoke, a sight so grim,
The deceased lay still with no life within.
The darkness of the morning sky,
Tens and thousands of civilians died.
No more laughter, only more sickness,
Only the memory of the bomb's limits.
Let this be a warning to us all
The power of our nuclear will hopefully befall
Let us strive for a world of peace
And never forget Little Boy’s release.
