Good Intentions
GOOD INTENTIONS?
Would you like to come out to play?
You must be bored in there all day,
Permanently on display.
No privacy, nowhere to hide.
Something I could not abide.
Every day just trapped inside.
So let me scoop you out of there.
I promise you I’ll take good care.
Lots of fun we all could share.
We thank you for your offer sir,
But all-in-all we would prefer
The status quo, as it were.
We are suspicious of your wish.
We think we’ll end up in your dish.
Cats are fond of eating fish.
We do not want to end up dead,
So go and catch some mice instead.
We’re just waiting to be fed.
