Carry your heart with me ( I carry it in my heart ) I am never without it Across the seas in the killing fields of France, Bellowing cries, suffering, Man's dying dance, Ceaseless shells rain on Mother's weeping earth, Devouring each breathless breath all future birth. Elevated to God's gate march the young and old, Forged in steel of Man's love for each other told, Grieving love in remembrance, as sorrow sways, Haunted images forever etched, the stolen brave. Inscribed on tombs on polished granite placed, Juggling hearts where life once simply graced, Killed the words that failed to hear or speak, Lucid, the air of silence, in cold winter's bleak. Mourning the stars that covet bloodied skies, Noble in sacrifice, the souls who gave us lives, Oragious the ominous clouds that brew above, Purloined the hearts of man's eternal love. Quiescent the tongues where no joy exists, Reflections forgotten wrong paths persist, Seeking light where darkness possess hearts, Transcending the chaos before love departs, United under one banner each life is distinct, Valued each tongue, for every heart is linked. Welcome every breath into your forgiving homes, Xenophobia defeated no clay on earth to roam, You are the answer to God's intended prayers, Zest is for the living, every dead soldier swears.
