Cool and Calm

Cool, crisp night air carries the call of the loon Two trumpeter swans croon timeless tunes... Hey, what’s that banging drowning out romance so soon Why, just the calming rhythms of college kids drumming Not to worry... quite soon all ears will be numbing

Each day that passes, I get closer and closer to becoming an off-grid hermit.

Careful not to bring up with the drummer of Herman...'s Hermits now!

Dear Gershon, I completely adore and prefer the sounds of Nature over "college kids drumming" any day. But your last verse has a more cautionary feel to it. Unfortunately, I feel like ears have been and will continue to be numbing as we go forward in time. Wonderful rhymes move through intriguing verse with ease. Warmest wishes my poet friend.. ~Susan

Well, well, well! As I live and still (barely) breathe! If it isn't my 'old friend,' Susan Ashley! Whoa! It's been too long, Susan... Are you available for a rendezvous on, say, the Twelfth or November, at precisely 13:01 on the (Mickey) Mouse clock. I'll be under the third watchtower on the right, down the street from the guillotine. ~ LEF (Liberty, Equality, Fraternity Boy). lol. Thanks, Gershon

creative, witty. I agree...with all things lately, folks ears are numb to the reality of what's going on. Scary

Witty and fun! Ah the loud clamor of today’s kids music lets me know I am an old fogey!
