In January’s chill, my woe is exposed Like a mesh of rough woolen lint Hanging on thick icicles when hours pale ; As brittle fleece of dreariness Grips my pores, longing for a cashmere night.

Sounds so inviting, Nette, I was driving an open boat in 47 degree temps until 2am this morning, cold and weary when I finally fell asleep at 3. Lovely write.

Excellent and unique treatment of this wool theme, Nette! Very poetic. Reading it made me feel cold and somewhat sad...but the cashmere night comes with a promise of warm hope. hugs // paul

Cold. Ugh. There is indeed a brittleness to it. It focuses us on trying to be warm.

I could feel that melancholy tone as the phrases went on and like how you ended this masterpiece with such yearning.

Again, you astound! The metaphors give a layered texture to the theme at hand---knits, fleece, cashmere all put together to create an absorbing poem!
