Biggy Smallz
BIGGY SMALLZ
Born broke as bonkers yet he'll still bluff.
Big dreams are what big minds are made of.
Dead broke and couldn't picture this!
In Queens, a little boy's journey from genesis:
'It was all a dream, and here it begins.
He used to read WordUp magazine,
Salt n Pepper and Heavy D up in the limousine,
Hanging pictures on the wall,
Every Saturday rap attack Mr Magic Molly Mall.'
Never thought hiphop would take this far.
Yet, hopes one day he'd become a star.
Then, honey play him toss like butter played toast
From the Mississippi down to the East Coast,
Sold out seats to hear Biggy Smallz spit,'
Fame & money would then take him on a treat,
Spreading love from Brooklyn to all 'em street.
The side hustle and artistry were the plus,
Young Notorious B.I.G used to make a big fuss
Then grew up to his money making a big noise.
But the more money the more problems,
This wasn't the kind of life he sees,
The gunshots & gangshots wouldn't cease
Until in '97, he himself after himself's decease.
Then his fame & legendary witness an increase
Just like the Young Aaliyah taking rest in peace,
So is that beauty which she hold in lease.
Brooklyn still thinks it was all a dream,
The city knows Biggy weigh more than a team.
Queens for a mo' thought his light has gone dim,
All to wake up into the reality of life's pulse,
Which is, there's no more Aaliyah & Biggy Smallz.
Certainly, the genre till today still mourns.³²
