Tales from the weird world Deadnoir issue 2 A clash of history

Three days ago in the wastes.

I am given a job many say in poor tastes.

The knife hangs at my side.

This alakir will not make it back i prepare the ambush where i hide.

Dark shadows envelope my eyes.

None can stop the matriarchy nor the wolf who lies.

The shinobi thinks she is the hunter now she is prey.

I grit my teeth in this abysmal place i stay.

The ashen pollen falls the pity of a sleeping god.

I unsheath my tonfa give the father of sky a nod.

If Xu’arch breach the veil we D’ha’kir will be left to roam.

The overwhelming force of our ancient invaders will breach our home.

I clutch the pendant i keep round my unarmoured neck.

The massive chains around my wrists creak my hawk peck.

I Karou’kir son Rawl will disrupt the spy.

As i leap from the bush dodging her kunai.

I laugh blood leaking from an oozing gash.

“Your not going anywhere alakir” i turn mid air and slash.

The dagger curved ripping through my arm.

The kunai impaled him but didnt disarm.

The Otali knife fighters were the best killers in the land.

But i am nimble as i duck beneath the next a headbutt i planned.

My own dagger come up but misses his waist.

Luckily i backflip passed the wild oak as he chased.

Two spies fought.

The plans i had needed to reach Xu’arch ears as i had been taught.

An attack from the east of the border lurien would come soon.

Im running away bleeding under full moon.

The woodland provides cover but a throwing knife still finds it’s mark.

I turn quickly even with the knife buried in my leg two daggers clashed and spark.

I say “dont you get tired little dog your serving slavers”.

He understands me but his will never wavers.

His hand moved left for a neck swipe but its a faint.

He bites down hard on my neck blood spurts like paint.

I thrust the dagger while he’s engaged.

Stabbing at his groin as he becomes enraged.

He blocks the blade with his wrist.

His hands around my neck as my body twist.

I elbow him with force.

He tightens his grip without remorse.

My visions blurs as i reach for my hidden blade.

He says “damn alkiri you think you’ll get another shot to invade us we are free men! Our word will be obeyed”.

I jam the blade as quickly as i can through his gut.

The chains on his arms fall but he whips them round my neck and shouts “fucking slut”.

As he backs off dragging me and i see my final fate.

With anger he throws his his full weight.

Dragging me i stab again and again but he wont fall.

The lumbering man dives of the cliff as i think of my family they’d say i was a fool.

we ‘re falling of the cliff face my final thought.

As we return to the present of magnaveil to see how many lives george had bought.

Deadnoir issue 2 part 1

Hands are shaking as i sit with madison in the bar.

Names george and i have traveled far.

A mage and a politician i snort with derision.

“We don’t have the body” she doesn’t listen she came as a soldier for the enemy causing division.

She wont listen grief blinds her to my plea.

I shout now “ look around you watch the innocent people flea”.

I continued “and why because there different it doesn’t matter who wins this fight”.

“You have to know deep down madison….its not right”.

Theres silence for a moment as the bar floor creaks as she thinks.

She spoke “i know what i know this whole thing stinks”.

She surveys the room with her guards but she knows its not a lie.

I continue with my last words before they shoot me and i die.

“When wars happen its us who suffer for their bluster.

“And all of it for governmental greed to muster”.

I add one final sting.

,You’ll never find them now even i don’t know.

“I betrayed you madison where they are now you'll never find” a smile forms on my tanned lips as i glow.

My short blonde kept hair waves in the wind as a soldier levels his gun.

“It doesn't matter if i die son today nobody won”.

Two weeks before the invasion of magnaveil i stand on the buildings ledge.

I watch the people in the city go about their lives on the edge.

Madison my partner is sat a block away in her car.

I weave my hands in the air as i say “they wont get far”.

We had the suspect in our sight.

Even now betraying her never felt right.

I masqueraded as a simple policeman for our aging empress.

The High matriarch had believed the starless had a weapon this she continued to stress.

If we did it wasn’t a conventional one.

And as you know whatever we had is long gone.

The tall building i stood loomed monolithic.

We were to end a gun rings run as i write my journal as prolific.

The bootleggers could be seen going inside.

but not why we came i confide.

Supposedly these simple women criminals had betrayed the empress to cover our tracks.

Just another era where we mages we’re subjected to attacks.

Madison uses the walkie and says there on the move.

“Get your ass down here before the evidence they remove”.

They had covered up where it was, a mean feat.

But when there funds were drained they couldnt eat.

They had organized this meet to obtain wealth.

Forgetting the lives of their fellows men women and children they betrayed.

I lower my head and ran to the meeting for madison i obeyed.

I hold a picture of a young girl in my hand my bethany i thought.

My daughter whom had no magic had not been taught.

the van appears and i move to the deal.

i think about the traitors how could they do this it was like they didnt feel.

We move 1000 years ago back to old woman with an impossible decision to be made.

She watched an atrocity would it be obeyed.

I grit my teeth watching the boy fall in his mothers arm.

My sister rests a hand on my shoulder whilst she bore a face that was placid calm.

Im watching the boy die as the wolfs guards mobilize to turn on the mother.

What was left i had thought how could he do this to his lover.

Those loyal to the queen died quickly.

Im reminded we’re her to aid the king i swallow my throat sickly.

Even as i do my legs move on their own.

Even if as a matriarch i was alone.

The blood smeared the floor as it did my reflection.

As the nearby knight swipes his sword down i throw my shield causing a deflection.

I run without thinking about anything else i plant a knee in his face.

I grab the queen as i look at my sisters “we must leave this place”.

Sister alera was the first to voice her disgust.

“You betray the matriarchy your own sisters who gave you their trust”.

She hesitantly leveled her spear.

As the queen arose to her feet and i back away i say “lets get out of here”.

Alera is placid and calm as always as we lock eyes.

Twelve years of service after i was sold i wondered how much was glory and how much was lies.

Her red hair shimmered as a distant flame.

She wouldn’t retreat and neither of us would accept blame.

An enemy was made this day.

My sisters who claim i betray.

My blonde hair golden unlike my now gray.

We are chased through the hall but i know i'll have to fight today.

Their are pictures that seem to stare at me with disapproval as we escape.

The wolf kings guards block the entrance in shock their mouths agape.

I lost my shield from my earlier decision.

and i felt i would lose more if it became a war of attrition i charge the first with my shoulder as my sword makes its incision.

I pierce his chest and blood coats my face.

the queen looks horrified but keeps my pace.

Her son is in her arms and he doesn't have long.

He slows us down but i ignore the thought and fight i have to be strong.

The soldier to my right flanks me and stabs at my rib as i howl in pain.

I spin around even with the spear in my side i shout “sword meet brain!”.

I cleave the top of his skull.

Alera follows but its as if the decision to kill me something that she deem dull.

I am six years old again.

And looking at my new enemy my strength is strain.

Family connections were forbidden.

But unlike the others i still saw my mother alera was the only one who knew where each mournday i had ridden.

Twelve years ago two children sat in the training hall.

One alittle older nine taught the other to stand tall.

She had been my tutor and my best friend.

My reverer broken as the queen screams “we have to go now!”.

Ill gift you anything dont let my little one die she howl.

I look at my hand.

As i tilt my wrist slightly the augment allows me to execute a secret command.

My target is the best bluffer in the room.

As his cards change due to my spell he swallows his throat saliva he consume.

He doesn’t look at me doesn’t say a word.

It tells him the truth and what he does now is less absurd.

The note reads “the empress will overlook your betrayal if you send them somewhere away”.

He scratches his chin and begins to say.

“too rich for my blood”.

the others immediately understood.

As the other three look at him it was a signal would my gamble pay off this time.

Now we return to Alera with her archers as they march closer a 100 score rhyme.

I turn to the closest of my guard.

I try to train my heart to be like stone hard.

“I know not of the madness that has claimed our sister but we must march now".

I watched as my sister danya broke her vow.

I think to myself “i should have warded her more closely shouldn't have found her mother”.

we were as close as true sisters with one another.

Shes made it past the front gate but we will follow.

I swore i’d always protect her once now my words ring hollow.

I call my sister Nu’vadri who was arguably are best shot.

And tell her to ride my horse how could i not

I send our best to kill my heart.

One would die a horrible start.

This campaign our first since we came of age.

She held me back but she was always mine and i become filled with rage.

No family they said but she was mine.

Her cat hides as i call to felix our feline.

On a distant shore an alikiri awakes her wounds do not sooth.

Ash rain falls and she tries to move.

Wolves begin to burrow up from within the ground.

I see my attacker laying unconscious and make no sound,

I grab at his feet.

Even with the sense of my looming defeat.

Its at that moment i see a cave and a torch on the ground.

i was blessed for bale hounds were afraid of fire and i couldn’t believe what i found.

The man is in agony something protruded from his leg with a symbol head.

As i frighted the metallic wolves and they fled for the moment and i sought to stop the man who was bled.

i used an old alikiri survival trick i used my sword pommel with lotus leaves.

And i began to remove the mans obstructed greaves.

i created a salve to ease his pain.

Before she left alive to find whatever locals this place contain.
