Contest Description
A haibun is a Japanese poetry form that combines prose poetry and haiku. The best haibuns are set in the present tense. Describe a scene or a moment, preferably in nature, that is full of emotion. Make us feel the moment with you; the sights, the sounds, the scents. The haiku should capsulize the moment, though you can use more than one in your poem.
I have written a number of haibuns. Two samples you can check out are: A Day in the Life (heaven) and To be where she is (hell).
