A Desperate Cry
She sits in the corner
Her pillow her only friend
She silently cries-
Broken hearts never mend.
She hears footsteps approaching
Although no-one is home
She's scared and she's frightened
Wishing she wasn't alone.
Locked in this prison
Aware of the rules
Brainwashed into thinking
The others were fools.
She hears the front door
She knows it will be him
He rushes to her
Commits yet another sin.
She hurts and she screams
Although he goes on
He forces her to touch him
And then he is gone.
This time she's brave
She knows she needs help
She runs and she staggers
The rain begins to pelt.
Then, finally she sees it
The building ahead
She is so overwhelmed
She is hit- and dead!
The funeral was lonely
Attended by one
Shameful and embarrassed
By what he had done.
Dying was for the best
For now she was free
Away from the cruel world
Her father would see.
