My Sister; My Friend

You are not just my sister,
But my best friend.
You stand beside me,
Guiding me onto the path,
You know is right for me.
Never giving up,
Just trying to make me,
The best I can be.
You have seen me through my worst times,
And have witnessed first hand,
The happiest moments of my life.
When I am lonely or sad,
You are there,
To hold me,
To cry with me,
Or to just smile that smile,
That always reassures me,
Everything will be okay.

As I have gotten older,
And turned into a woman,
I understand your life better,
What you've gone through,
The difficult times you have had to face,
All alone.
Most would of given up,
Walked away and left everything behind,
Without ever looking back,
But it takes a real woman,
The woman I see when I look at you,
To stick around and get through it.
I can only pray pray,
If my life ever gets that hard,
I can become half the woman,
You are today.
But if I can't,
I know I will have a wonderful sister by my side,
To help me get through it all.

Emma, You know this is my favorite. Great job! I love you baby sis. Keep writing & keep drawing, I am not sure which you do better so never stop either. You have a true gift--hold it tight, along with your dreams. I would like to think that I had something to do with the poertry, since I read them to you everyday, when you were just a baby. You make me proud, and you make my heart smile. I love you Love, Kelli
