Unwind

UNWIND
Against the twilight so quietly
Sat this grand old lady of the sea
Her lines and curves still full of grace
She bobbed so silently in her place

Many repairs were guessed at hand
Once gotten out upon dry land

The trip from ramp to yard was slow
She creaked and moaned and groaned tis so
And once in the yard looked unloved and forlorn
The decks, the roof and the covers...all rotting and torn

And the heart of this dame once running at will
Her engines sat rusty...and silent...and still

But with screws and nails and paint and such
Was restored to her glory with a loving touch
With sweat on brow and laboured hands
This sad old lady would yet again be grand

So, as it was then...can it once again be
This grand old dame back out at sea

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
