Dalila Agtani Poem
MORNING DELIGHT
In one clasps of our hands
Suddenly the murmurings
Are becoming warm and intense
As boldness left behind dumbness
As together now we sing melodious
Songs, caressing. kissing, and playfully dance
Till the wee hours which greatly inspired us.
Even the dawning sun it seems
It was kept at bay
And the stars twinkling and clapping
Witnessing how sweet we have shared
A blissful contrast of a newlyweds honeymooning
A balikbayan to waiting gentle hand
Though jittery they stood together to a
morning glory!
Now, shall we let it go
Vis a vis the doldrums
Of yesteryears which we didn't denied
After the high school years
Autographs, roses and chocolates
Were fads of the late 60's yet to a funny fan
Bestows to a man's erudite love for poetry.
The more it comes straight from the hearts
The constancy of exchange writings of messages and poems
Have become part of life's spontaneity
Even at the middle of the night, we are awaken
Laptops connected, phone conversation
Every little sweet words reverberating through!

Dalila Agtani Poem
A GIFT
You've given me
a piece of your soul
inside a sunken brown envelope
written handle with care
as if I was born heavy-handed.
You've telescoped
my soul once more
in its caravan
on a mountain slope
stooped by a bulky backpack.
It's good you've frozen
that portion of my long journey
I could have missed the sun
just because I stooped too low
that I could only see my heavy footsteps.
I've always known
when I unwrap your love
with my crystal-pure letter opener
I've trapped a powerful force
that allows me to forge ahead
with its timely smiles.
what I just received
is static showcase of a dynamic love!
NOW I KNOW
Now I know
you covered yourself
in coming to me
for I was too green
to know myself
that outgrows my form.
I am sorry
if I hated anything
that didn't speak
my unfulfilled language
though what it attempted
was to enrich it and my world.
You spoke my language
nonetheless
and maneuvered me
into marching
to my inner heart.
How could I resist
from following
strangely familiar footprints
to a wide lawn home
almost forgotten
in the dark smoke
of my activities.
WHY YOU
Could it be
That my footprints
Have lead me
To meet and see you as beautiful?
I could have seen you
any other else
If these noise
would have stopped crowding
about my sensitive ear.
Maybe I was formed
To see you as I do
And there's no way
To be otherwise.
Or if there is
It could be a slim probability
I could not wait
For time to unwrap
Your true worth
For I have my heart
Filled with pregnant rose
And to wait a little longer
Would mean forever.
It could be
that you are an eclectic
of personalities
that lighted my footprints
or, perhaps, watered them with tears.
in my case I chose you
and that's a footprint hard to erase!

LONGING TO SEE YOU
I’ve climbed patiently this far
Over the heap of piebald years
To have even a twinkling glimpse
Of your acclaimed effulgent face
A flitting moment to me bestowed
Enough to send my spirit leaping
Among the daisies in the morning sun
When time are short for squirt of joy.

Dalila Agtani Poem
PYROTECHNIC LOVE
At the height of celebrations
A couple inched their way out of the crowd
It was near midnight
Away from the maddening and argus eyes of the people
They found their love nest
Behind the rocky shores
In Seattle
Holding hands together
As they sat embracing and kissing
At the callous virgin sand,
No one could prevent them,
This very opportune time a feeling
Borne out of love and trust,
Before the dawning of another day
They sip the nectar of love,
Like crazy and bountiful love yet beautiful
Yes, it was founded with pureness
Answering its call…. A boom out
Pyrotechnic love!

I need to stay
In a love cubicle, and
Excitingly write
Love's innermost recesses
Where passion, joy and love rules!

Dalila Agtani Poem
BAHAY KUBO
Our Bahay Kubo
Is made of light materials of woods, nipa and bamboo
It is situated near the sand dunes of the sea
Its fence surrounding it is made of bamboo too
And kitchen wares from indigenous and pottery also.
The style of the Kubo
Is a split design, though
The upper living room and a bedroom for two
While the basement is the kitchen where dining is with gusto
And the tub and bath are separated from the Kubo.
Our Bahay Kubo is intended for the duo
Whose lives are simple but nurtured with love
The serenity and oneness bring them together
A love nest just simply for the two.
Someday with their kids and grandkids
Will make the atmosphere livelier and more enjoyable
To tend native chicken, vegetables and other livestocks
For domestications and food for good times sake
With the stars and the moon as company from dusk to dawn.
Our Bahay Kubo
Is assembled mostly by loving neighbors,
Sharing, smiling, bantering at the end of the day
For Bahay Kubo is a symbol of bayanihan
Where everybody shares the fun!
Meanings:
Bahay Kubo is a small hut traditionally constructed with bamboo, generally found in
rural areas in the Phillipines (For further understanding, watch bahay kubo in u
tube)
Nipa is a palm leaf use as a roof for bahay kubo
Bayanihan is a term that suggests a spirit of unity and effort to achieve a particular
effort (from Wikipedia)

BALIKBAYAN
Six months away to travel
Home to a nostalgic place
Where, once more, I'd be able to capture
The free things:
Mountains, pristine rivers, rice fields, fresh air, etc
My relatives packing all sorts
Used clothing, spam, corned beef, Vienna sausage
Coffee, coffee mates, chocolates, candies
As if those items were not availabe
In any stores except United States.
My childhood I mirror
Daydreaming in the middle of the ricefield
Pulling strings of scarecrows
Washing clothes in the running river
Drying them under the sun.
My childhood brings me back
Climbing guava tree in the backyard
Riding a carabao was a delight
Watching a river gorge
Was a wonder and awe!
I have gone too far.
Now, I am a Balikbayan!
With big boxes in a row
Fascinating pasalubong to everyone
In return
Happy smiles I've got!
Meanings:
Balikbayan -----Overseas Filipino Workers
Pasalubong----a present or a gift
Carabao--------water buffalo

She is the golden girl, Betty White
She states she has a two story house
For exercise she goes up and down
Hopefully she is not in a gown!
Coolest, wittiest lady, Betty White
She states, you want to be a toughie?
“Grow ******, they can take a pounding”
Her hilarious humor are outstanding!
