How Can I Forget You

Tormented by the flashback of regret
Holding onto indelible memories
Vivid events of how we first met
Daydreaming about all the possibilities

My love for you is undeniably deep
Wishing, I had the power to wait
A beautiful woman, I can't keep
Dancing circles with my hate

Should of ended from the start
So much I didn't know
Now, I'm left here with a broken heart
Your love is evaporating like the snow

Us together was suffused with lies
Falling in love with you was my demise

The Genuine Legacy

A tree, bright and tall
Hope deferred before the fall
Slowly but surely the call is dead
Look up! The sky bleeds red
How can this be? Obliviously and ignored
She closes her eyes and counts to four

The dark revealed in a blink of an eye
A shadow disappeared screaming, "she tried!"
Uncertainty is present for those who wait
Her question still lingers, "Is this my fate?"

Their backs against the wall as they connive
How can they stand against the divide?
With one last breath she ponders
For all these years, her heart wanders
A tree, faded and tall
Her voice was heard after all

Revelation Through Heartbreak

If we forget what is true
I will stumble to be with you
Who I thought would be my one
Left me stranded, confused and undone
Losing you led to persistent grief
My mind is darkened due to a core belief
The betrayal has distorted my life
I refuse to handle your bloody, dull knife
Look in my eyes, did I even matter?
My heart looks broken on your platter

No Regard

The depths of insecurities
Buried with inveterate tendencies
Her words were sweet as honey
Easily succumbed to vulnerability
The final result came from pity
Satisfaction lasted for a moment
Confusion is here to stay

The War of Perception

Time fades through the heart of the storm
Durations of silence conflicts with violence
Who are we to predict the contradiction?
One may speak, the other perceives, but who truly believes?

Faith begins with blind intentions
Failure stands tall seeking intervention
A kind word makes a difference

Dreading the day through a selfish conscience
Hope is perspective absorbed by imperfections
How long can this be without validation?

The Reality

My life is a raging fire
I'm desperate for living water
Manipulated by the ultimate liar
I'm even afraid to meet my daughter

Floating aimlessly to catch a wave
Hiding behind the wall of my shame
Time is endless as I wander this cave
The fleshly appetite is too difficult to tame

Hope seems to be my final thought
Confused by what I need
No where to go after I've been caught
When will I grow up and take the lead?

My ambitious intentions have been restrained
All I see is a life that has been disdained

Worth More Than Gold

Faithful servants of a living hope
Nothing can overcome genuine love
A bond as tight as a unrelenting rope
Unexpected like a morning dove

We stay true through the dark
Striving together with a true friend
Indelible memories that left a mark
Two characters are the perfect blend

Examining with deep accountability
Wisdom shadows our pain
Helping hands lead to prosperity
A kind word will not go in vain

Taking advantage of many opportunities
Without the other, we neglect the possibilities

Faded

The heart of a man is a strong tower
A haughty mind is their disguise
Deceived by an unknown power
All of their ways seem to be wise

A flower is alone in the dark
Searching for a long term solution
But its growth has left its mark
Haunted by a familiar conclusion

Creeping through a vacant hall
Forgotten hope sheds a tear
Many lovers miss their call
The world is loud, they can barely hear

Courage fades through prosperity
Blinded by undivulged morbidity

No Conclusion

Perspective, a spiritual experience
Have I forgotten the nature of independence?
All day long, I'm imprisoned by my conscience
Entertaining the game of my past resentment
Can anyone elude from what is evident?

My heart is heavy with persistent contrition
Haunted by the reality of an empty illusion
A light approaching that may seem distant
Overwhelmed by love that appeared to be constant

All it takes is simple submission
Manipulated by the human condition
Oh my God! Hear me as I pray
Do what you must to make me go away

The Root of Obsession

Planted in the ground of possibilities
Stemming from inner catastrophies

Am I blinded by curiosity?
Am I losing my sanity?

Attraction, love, lust
Obsession

Money, status, purpose
Obsession

Entertainment, power, time
Obsession

External? Internal?
Obsession
