Through the Eyes of Another

Through my eyes I see a student
A student with big dreams 
Big dreams to make his family proud 
His family proud because they gave him opportunity
Gave him opportunity to be who ever he wants to be
I see a student

Through my eyes I see a mother
A mother who works all day 
Works all day and still runs a house 
Runs a house with love and care 
Love and care she raises her children
 I see a mother

Through my eyes I see a father 
A father who works hard 
Who works hard to support his family 
Support his family to set the example 
Set the example for his children 
I see a father

Through my eyes I see a teacher 
A teacher who helps students learn 
Helps students learn the stepping stones in life
Stepping stones in life to lead them on their way
On their way to be whomever they want to become 
I see a teacher

Through my eyes I see a solider 
A solider who’s job is to keep us safe
Keep us safe from the dangers in our community 
In our community they are a symbol 
A symbol of protection and leadership
I see a solider

Through my eyes I see a doctor 
A doctor who cares for patients 
Cares for patients with a smile 
With a smile even though they face so much sickness 
So much sickness they try to heal
I see a doctor

Through the eyes of another I wonder what they see 
Do they see someone who cares
Someone who leads with example 
Someone who teaches to think outside the box 
Someone who protects those around them
Through the eyes of another I hope they see someone they can look up to
