Understanding Friendship

I am at peace, because I understood My friends are leaving me for good. I can never say that I truly love them. The lovely memories are like a wonderful song But maybe I was wrong Friends are seasonal and don’t last long. I used to think that They will be in my heart always. It took me a while to realise that I am better off without them. It would be a lie to say that I will always love my friends. (Read from the last line to the first)

Silly

Silly it is, to take life seriously -
Better for us to take it hilariously;

Silly it is, to carry the weight of unwanted pressure,
When life itself, is meant to be lived with pleasure.

Silly it is, to let words of others, affect you -
Better for us to just let them flow through;

Silly it is, to want to be thought of, as perfect,
When our beauty lies in being perfectly imperfect.

Silly it is, to get over-worked and stressed -
Better for us to take it slow, with a rest;

Silly it is, to expect recognition and respect,
When our own needs, we often neglect.

Each Passing Cloud

Each passing cloud shows me
Your face, in great detail;
It fills me with so much glee
Which helps my day to sail.

Each passing cloud reminds me
Of the beautiful days,
When we used to have tea
Unmindful of life's ways.

Each passing cloud tells me
Those days will soon return
That, with me, you'll always be
In each of my life's turn.

Don'T Judge a Book By Its Cover

Don't judge a book by its cover -
As simple as it may sound,
You will also soon discover
What I, with difficulty, found.

People who look happy outside
Make you feel jealous sometimes;
But when you know them from inside
They look different, many times.

We just show to the outside world
What we want people to see;
What really lies inside us, curled
We hide it well, I must agree.

If we could show true emotions -
Happiness and mainly pains,
They might even search the oceans
To find a way to free our chains.

Let's try to keep our books open
Unafraid to let them read
With friends atleast, be outspoken -
Show them your heart, unchained and freed.

Without knowing the true story,
Just reading the one on the cover,
Let's not cross their territory -
Don't ever judge a book by its cover.

If I Were Your Love

If I were your love,
I would be like your glove;
Protect you even from a thorn
And never give you a chance to mourn.

Even when life gives complications,
Your intentions and affections -
You'll never have to prove,
If I were your love.

If I were your love,
I will strive not to shove
My wishes and opinion
On you, or make you my minion

I would never arrest your freedom
Give you your space, in my kingdom -
Unlike a caged dove
If only... I were your love.

Life Lessons

Shine bright like the sun
But don't forget to have fun;
Discipline and education
Should go hand-in-hand as one.

Learn the calmness of the moon
Don't let failures make you swoon;
Of yourself, be the best version
With others, never make a comparison.

Like the wind, always be on the run
But don't get swayed by words of anyone;
To be gentle, or to show your brawn
May you learn that differentiation.

Like the earth, have some patience
Don't get buried under emotions;
Help people below your position
Without putting it on exhibition.

May God always shower his affection
And keep you under his protection;
This, in essence, my loved one,
Is a prayer for you, my dear Son.

Peace Means a Lot

Smiling faces all around. Back-pats and words of appreciation come my way. It feels so good to be acknowledged and not taken for granted. The positivity and feel-good factor does wonders to our well-being. To live for my own self, and not to satisfy any one else's needs - that's what gives peace to my soul. Such independence gives the impetus to better myself, which further catapults me to realise my purpose in life and slowly endeavour to fulfill that. It is wonderful to be surrounded by loving family and friends, who do not judge you for what you do and rather stand by you in times of need.

I wish this dream lasts...
Wish I didn't have to wake up
and see my real life...

Dazzling Coolness

In a moment, my soul's thirst, you quench
Away from you, my eyes I can't wrench.
Who better than you, to cool me down?
Into a smile, you always turn my frown.

You dazzle me with your bright colours
Make me jealous seeing you with others.
Though I long for you more and more
I want to take my time to explore.

The closer you come, I feel more youthly
We melt into each other, smoothly.
By refreshing my body and mind
You help me get through my daily grind.

Of sharing you, I wouldn't even dream -
After all, who can share their ice cream.

Life's Simple Pleasure

Can't even remember how long it's been
You're in my thoughts, but not in my hands;
Although I want you in my routine,
There's always someone to spoil my plans.

Oh! To hold you when you're so hot,
Spreading your warmth through my fingers;
Relaxing with you, even if I get caught,
On my lips, I wish you would linger.

When you are with me, I close my eyes
You soothe me down from life's daily stress;
I just forget my world, Ah! How time flies
Morn and Eve, I await your caress.

With you, I want to spend my leisure
Sometimes, even with a friend or two;
It really is, life's simplest pleasure -
"Drinking a cup of tea".....Can someone brew?

I Miss You

What do I miss the most?
a) the laughs we used to share
b) the silence we used to savour
c) the tears we used to wipe off each other
d) the shoulder I used to lean on
e) the hands that used to support me
f) the eyes that used to speak to me
g) your mere presence that used to console me
h) Or is it all of the above?
