John Francis Roces Poem
I love your shade
Dark yet bright
Contradicting parts
A harmonious sight
Your lovely swings
An angel’s dance
A fall by cut
What a bloody jive
I am your soil
You are my plant
Trampled by water
Crushed by stream
You are my thorn
My unkind end
My hurt, my loss
Truly, my rose

John Francis Roces Poem
If I ever said things I shouldn’t
I’m sorry
For doing things I shouldn’t
I’m sorry
Trying my best
(No, you’re not)
Convincing myself
Shame on my part
Loving you was easy
(Who says? damn fool)
(Don’t even try)
(You’re no better from the start)
A lie is a lie
Moments of regret
Bitterness of truth
(It is what you get)

John Francis Roces Poem
From crawl to walk
The changes I see
but life's so hard
and there's silly me
A quarter I live
yet clueless still
What is life?
Ahead of me
Reflection in the water
blur by life's touch
Steady behavior
There's no thing as such
Growing through living
My newfound fancy
A glimpse of light
'cause I'm almost twenty-three

John Francis Roces Poem
Storm's brewing inside
Idea of being behind
Like a needle in a haystack
You seek, I hide
So-called friends were here
but now, where?
Years of realization,
led to one conclusion
Convenience over you
An option, quite true
Knowing it late
but hey, no hate
I won't be around
fill the blanks throughout
Using the lid
'cause I'll be off the grid.
