Eliots Friend

You’ve got a lark on the brain
I’ve got a ghost in mine
Shape of the shadows of things to come
Half started is only half begun

In the distance I hear a violin
Loosely based on ragged knee
Shades of grey floating free
Insipid dreams are following me
Took the tragic risk
Death served cold
On a porcelain dish

Whitest whites darkest nights twist of fate
Winding roads you can’t navigate
Empty room bereft of grace
With frozen eyes his lips embrace
Sold your soul for the title role
The bill’s come due
What’s happened before you can’t undo
You’re gonna pay his price
The valley of deaths’ a fools paradise

Nosferatu walks with death
His dear dear friend, walks as death walks
His dear dear friend
Shapes have no form shades have no color
Don’t need it no more, the almighty dollar
The knifes in the block, the axe it swings
Listen to the bells as they ring

In for a penny in for a pound
Penny for the old guy
Leave it where you found .....it
Strawmans’ head is full of hay
Nothing new has come your way
Treats you as his enemy
While wearing a mask of integrity
No ones gonna bring you round
Black birds cry the perfect sound.

Banksys On Razors Edge

In a house of cards
in torrential rain
social media overload
floods my brain.
Wave after wave
you feel the pain.
Heading down the hallway
into the dark,
the imminent
and dissonant
hellhounds bark.

From the penthouse of hypocrisy
I jumped onto a train
Heading nowhere and arriving too soon
I watch as a little girl forever reaches
for her red balloon.
The Queen of hearts has her axe to grind
Her targets locked.
She rears back
Lowers her blade
As another head drops
We’re well away from this blood lust fray

It’s just a matter of time
til the skeletal banshees and their vigilantes
wave red flags
for their divergent paths
Driving away
ALL that is meek
ALL that is good
Running in circles
forever misunderstood

In a black glass
Chipped and cracked
You can see them still
Never approaching
Never fulfilled
In a timeless dance
They writhe and flay
This storys’ musical refrain
Frozen silent
Their world will ever remain.

Vanish Into Thin Air

A rabbit in a magic hat
The moons silvery sliver, slides behind the veil of dotted light, as the man on it, hides his face from our sight
Flowers from their stems
Leaves , which once were green and full of life, become dry, and fall off as they wither.
Snakes as they slither underground, under water, or up a tree.
Money, if you’re not cautious, nothing is ever free.
Children, who grow, and leave home
Musicians on the road, as they roam
Buildings made of brick and steel eventually will fall under the builders zeal
A star, once bright and strong, whose fuel, is now long gone, will collapse and fall in upon itself
The spiders web of lacy silk
A plate of cookies and a glass of milk
Food, once prepared and shared
CHOCOLATE, IF IM AWARE OF IT SITTING THERE !
Love, once you’ve fallen out
Grey skies, once the rain has gone
Hero’s, who, once were strong
Democracy, if we wait too long
A ring, a jewel, a television show
Our perception of these things is short lived, compared to the storied histories they’ve lived
The sun, below the horizon line, once the day is done
Soon you find a new one has just begun
A breath, once held, is soon expelled
A bird from its nest, a smile from a face.....
Nothing ever really vanishes, it just changes shape, transforms, and then moves on to another state
Energy is never lost
It just lies in wait......until, such time, as it is acted upon.

Good Trouble

One must act with sufficient tact.
The shadow on my heart,
Crept silent.
And with swift recompense,
embraced and debased me.

How long will we accept
needless hate and strife ?
A mother with child lie dead in the street.
With murderous intent,
the bullets spent.
Missed their mark.
Now tomorrow is forever dark.

One less happy grin.
One less day to begin.
Two fewer seats to share.
One more family torn beyond repair.
One less book to buy.
On that lonely street,
I hear the children cry.
One less mountain to climb.
One less stone to grind.
One more hardship to bare.
One more arrow to fly.
There are no reasons why,
Only pain and anger
rise to the surface.
No one here on Earth, is without purpose

And when the riots begin,
the huddled masses speak

TRUTH TO POWER !

In these, the darkest of hours,
we hold a candle up to light.
And remember those who
were lost in the fight.
How long will it be
till everyone can see
the gift we ALL were given ?

THIS LIFE

Its fleeting.
Each one of us has been dreaming
for a day when,
everyone will be seen for the light in their soul,
And NOT the color of their skin.

Vignette In Time

Allow love to fly free
On its own wings it will carry me
The sweetest of rhymes
In their gentle persuasion
Soon I find
In the rhythms of the day
In the stillness of time
Those melodic phrases
Are captured in lines

The boldest of words
Can cut like a knife
Bringing into the light
A slice of a day
In someone’s life

From days long ago
A War of Roses
An impassioned fight
Echoing still
In words
On a page
A emphatic plea
Of cause and effect

Their time was at hand
But for the briefest of moments
They penned out in words
Their heart
Their mind
Their body and soul
Pleading with all who would follow
To forge a NEW path
Neither friend nor foe
Should dissuade you from your task

In some long forgotten book
In WORDS
On a PAGE
Are a leaflet of time
THEY are there to remind you
To FORGIVE
and FORGET
is DIVINE

A Colossus Part 1 Dedicated To All Who Are Serving and All Who Have Served

A Colossus
And on it
An emblazoned inscription
From days long gone by
A message
Of Love
Of Peace
Of Dreams
Made real
Breathe in the life
TRUE freedom brings
Of Love
Of Peace
Of Power
Of Pain
Of Happiness and Sadness
Her TRUTH
Remains
Rest upon this lady,
Who beckons to ALL
From her golden shores
For EACH of you
Her message
Her edification
Her promise
To EACH of YOU
Who once sought comfort
Within her bountiful borders
And in her majestic corridors.
Her light she brings.
To those made to run from far flung shores
How dire their need must be
To flee from home
From EVERYONE and EVERYTHING
They’ve ever known.
Only one promise she has made them
Upon your words and deeds
Upon ALL your hard works
will deliver
The promise
Of Love
Of Peace
Of Freedom

How can it be ?
So MANY
Who once sought refuge within her arms
Have forgot
THEIR OWN STORY
Of Pain,
Of desperate pleas.
Pledging, upon her
With doors widened
Her all encompassing compassion and care.
Least YOU
NEVER FORGET
YOUR PLEDGE
YOUR PROMISE
To share
THESE ENDOWMENTS unselfishly
And without discrimination
To each who struggled and sacrificed ALL
For the opportunity
TO BE FREE.
To pursue
THESE above all.
Those words
Upon her
This dream
Made real.

Time Signatures Waltz

Moving through the pulse and the flow
A timetable of fixed dilation
A given
And measured
Ellipse
To the people it trips
As they ride the crest
Of the waves
Of emotions
Just prisoners of
Perpetual motion
Never ceasing
Never pretending to be
Anything more

Born into the days
Of a future long past
Spying its records
From the start to the last
We are all
Just second hand news
In a land of ne’re to be
Nonsensical devotion
The prisoners of perpetual motion
Elate
And repress
The We
The US three

The Me
Myself
and I
Come to share in a life such as these
Checking out the view
I’m just second hand news
In the land of Ne’re do we
Strolling on by and
Pressing on through
Tasked with its provisions
And it’s riddled revisions
Nonsense and fiction
Have found their new diction
Of solar progression
As they encapsulate
The US Three

Strolling on by
Pressing ahead
The RIGHT
And the TRUE
It’s textured and layered deception
Held a managed intervention
Holding within its folio
The signatures of digression
Devoid of emotion
As it’s pendulum swings to and fro
Never able to leave
Or break its grasp
Transcending all in its path

Nonsense and fiction
Wear a guise of suspicion
Take on a new face
A perplexing division
With its sweeping broad strokes
To embrace and replace the US Three

Brushing on past
Just a page before
You knocked on the door
Of the garden where flowers once grew
These steps you’ve taken
Left to the tender mercies
Of fiscal conservancy’s
Hyperbolic uncertainty

Common knowledge
Given breathe
As stolen
A thief
Of the Inspector in chief
His notes plainly written
A solider in part
Has taken my enemies heart
In a fruitless pursuit
Of passion and pain
Here
I remain
In its orbital dance
The great mechanic has cast
His players
The WE
The US Three

Cry the home
On this ellipse
As we roam
The WE
The US Three

The black crow
Watches unfaltering
With his stalwart gaze
As your counterfeit lies
Sought in other men’s eyes
With a forbodance
Which can not be denied
In the wink of an eye
Like the pearls on a string
That glow
And
That shine
As it squares with the facts
In the drivers seat of circumstance
And at length in perpetuity
YOU hold the charter to men’s hearts.

Mango Mussolini

Watching the news with a
Certain sense of urgency
All this misinformation
And repetitive monotony
Are they just the
Manifestations
Of your depravity
As your social life
Drifts on past
It’s firewood
Do you really believe you’re
Just misunderstood ?
It’s a pretty odd situation
You’ve gotten yourself into
Did you think we wouldn’t see through ?
See through
See through it
Your complacency?
You cover your face
Cover your face
Cover your face
Your face
It’s a courtesy
Your mask has become your new reality
The mask of common sense
You swore to provide for the common defense
The mask
The mask
The mask of pretense
It’s a pretense
Your only pretending
Pre tend ing
Pre tend ing
Pre tend ing to care.
When will you be aware
Of your misogyny ?
Must be part
Of your heredity
Heredity
How will you secure the blessings of
Liberty ?
For yourself and your posterity
Will you change your mind
Will you be willing to find
That perfect balance of
Protection and Projection
Projectionist
Welcome to the world of self doubt
And mental agony
Is this self destruction ?
Or just hallucination ?
Whose gonna provide the remedy ?
Remedy
Remedy
The Rem Ed y

The Mango Mussolini
Left the rest of us
To find
Need to find
Need to find
Some
Pos I tive
Energy energy.

Lessons Learned

Many lessons we have learned,
Were given and never earned.
When we use what has been given,
all our triumphs and our fails
Are not ours alone
We have built upon the works of all those
who have gone before.

If you think your lessons have not been heard,
Fall on deaf ears
Are just another bunch of words.
It’s the failings of youth
that your not understood.
Falling prey to the traps of beauty
and boundless energy.
Many years later on,
A clock will chime
And all those words
Will turn into rhymes
Holding now, great appeal.

Even after you are dead and gone,
a part of you will still belong
In the hearts and minds of those you chose to impart your wisdom upon.
And those you chose to spend the breath of your life, your years, your time.
Taking heed NOW
All the love you shared through your blood sweat and tears.
All the hills that we climbed
Seemed like mountains at the time.
All the oceans we have sailed,
All those lessons we have shared,
Finally came home to roost

A WHISP
Turns into a SPARK
Turning DARKNESS into TRUTH.

The Titmouse Symphony the Name Sikorski Means Titmouse In Polish

Captivated and compelled to find my little friend,
who has broken out in song again.
Sitting on the window ledge,
he stretches his neck as he tilts his head.
Releasing a group of compact and purposeful notes,
I gaze blissfully upon his silken, iridescent cloak.
Feathers...
Fashioned and fitted
and plucked to perfection,
he begins to sing this mornings delightful rendition.
I am wondering what makes my little friend sing out like this today ?
What meaning is his melody trying to convey ?
....The morning’s announcements ?
Meant to guard the others in his little band, against the peril at hand.
A few of his ravenous neighbors are on the prowl,
scouring and scouting his surrounding acres now...Be on watch !

BEWARE !

Or is it a pledge of noble chivalry, his love songs sweet endowments of fidelity.
Could it be a gleeful ode of expression, my excited little friends’
personal impressions of Mother Natures morning menu ?...
Is he calling to his brethren so they can begin sampling too ?
Could he be pronouncing and proclaiming the virtues of his simple existence ?
Or, perhaps, instead,
he is voicing his frustrations,
with winters harsh weather,
as it transitions,
into springs bountiful splendor.

I dare not ask as I linger there, in quite admiration
appreciating my little friends melodic and heartfelt song.
Charmed and besotted by him, I am taken unawares.
The song sung by one has turned into TWO !
They sing together,
ever so sweetly now,
as a pair.

Book: Reflection on the Important Things
