The Butterfly

I remember when we were little and I always imagined we would grow old together. You always loved butterflies and sunflowers, the brightest things and even singing you are my sunshine to your daughter as we got older. We had our fights, but we always forgave each other. When that day came and you gave birth to your daughter I knew youd be a great mom but we found out something terrible. You had a disease called pulmonary hypertension. Your lungs and heart gradually got worse, I watched you month by month get sicker.. and thinner.. your hair was falling out. I never imagined how it would feel having the disease until November when I fainted and they told me I to had it. You were by my side every day, helping me through it.. through the change I never imagined we would face. Together we understood while everyone around us never did. The night you went to the hospital .. because you had pain and we found out it was a blood infection, you caught 4 months.. good and bad nights we were so close to that lung transplant but it just ... didnt seem good. We spent time together, I saw you every day I could. The night they took you in for your heart surgery.. I looked at you so beautiful so strong, you faught so hard.. I thought I'd see you again.. laughing and smiling.. talking walking and breathing.. days after the surgery you never woke up.. and we lost you. That day we made the toughest desicion .. to let you be free... and I swear now I always see butterflies.. everywhere I go I know you're still with me but I just feel like I cant see ahead .. I always thought wed stand.. together at the end.. you're at peace.. you're flying .. you are a beautiful butterfly and I know you will live on in memory and in the heart. I love you, my dear sister...

You Are My Sunshine

She is the rustling of the leaves upon the trees
She is the buzzing of the bees

She is the reflection in your tear
She is the whisper of the wind that brushes against your ear

She is a sunflower growing tall from the ground
That is her name upon the grave mound

She is a butterfly, swaying around the flowers
She is the one who brings the April showers

For she is always near, she is what you hear.
My sisters memory is very dear.

The Woods

The darkness engulfs the sun
In the woods there is a howling
A howling for the moon

In the woods there is ruffling of leafs
Animals prowling around in slow motion for their prey

In the woods there is a small cabin
Made just for one
A man lives alone

In the woods he stands
Picking up rocks and giving them a toss
Hitting a tree in the distance

From the woods a rock is thrown
Hitting the man square in the face
A hefty laughter is heard

In the woods a man and a woman stand
She has searched several years for him
He has searched years for her

In the woods they become one
They live their lives in the cabin

In the woods childrens feet pitter patter
Mud splashing out from the ground as they run
Screams and laughter fills the air

The man and woman laugh and play with their children
Eventually the leaves change and the winter comes and goes
Another season comes and goes .. and maybe years

In the woods stands a man and a woman
Standing in front of the cabin
Just to the left is a tree
A grave stone underneath its branches

Under the tree the man and woman lay their flowers
Paying their respects

In the woods a man and woman grew old
They were returned to the place they call home
It is there the tree they were buried under will grow
Into new life.. into new hope.

Battles

Running through the nightly woods
Pitter patter along the muddy ground
Panting and huffing
A boy with pointed ears
A small leaf like garment around his torso
Behind him a large beast runs
The beasts feet trample all below it
Digging large craters in the ground
His tail drags behind him and he growls
A snout that blows smoke and a mouth that spits fire
His wings spread and he takes flight
Following the elf through the woods
Burning all in sight
The elf makes his way towards a hill
As he looks up seeing the mighty beast above him
He slides and disappears
The beast continues flying and lowering himself
Towards the bottom of the hill
No elf is found
Suddenly the small elf jumps unto the dragons back
Grabbing his horns
Taming him but not without a good fight
Thrown and nearly blown up
The Dragon stands down and the elf holds his horns
The elf won against the beast

In life there are struggles we face
Some take time to overcome but we eventually overcome them
We win our battles, always.
