Twirling their flashing batons in a fabulous fashion
Two high steppers with tasseled boots led the parade
All of us third grade girls wanted white boots now
And a full short skirt with matching panties
And naturally, the giant glitzy light up baton.
Only one of us got a light up baton
It was too heavy for her to lift
which was a bit of consolation for the rest of us.
Especially those of us who had not gotten the boots either.
Lazy god,
nibbling cotton candy clouds
guzzling golden grape wine
angels fanning your endless siesta.
With harps and trumpets divine
while this invisible beast
that you fashioned
eats us alive...
Soul creator
galaxy twirler
black hole baker
ocean filler
talking snake maker.
You could wash out this raging fire,
anytime your artisan heart desires...
We're patiently waiting!
We are not perfect by no means at all,
some are too skinny, some are too tall,
I was always the tallest in my class,
until High school, then I found my match.
5' 7'' kinda tall for a girl,
then I decided, I wanted to twirl,
The football players always kidded with me,
but I knew they were flirting, they really liked me.
My hair was long, and blonde as can be,
they told me not past the shoulders, little Crissy.
I had to pile it up, but it never stayed,
stringy haired twirler, out on the stage.
Now , I think back to those football games,
remembering those memories, of my High School
Days.
