Too often our heroes are dead
the earth around them splattered red
I much prefer to see them alive
~ not buried in some dim archive
Her shattered splattered heart landed at my feet
I was shocked when I heard the splat,
But even more concerned when her heart broke in half
What kind of monster would do this to her?
Her shattered splattered heart gave one final sigh
Was she dead then? I looked up to see her woman run toward it.
Be careful I cautioned her as she scooped it up
She was about to toss it into a brown sack with a McDonald’s logo
Please take this, I said, offering her my fur lined hat box
The pretty one with the rainbow cats on the outside.
She was startled. How long has it been since someone was kind to her?
She reached for the hatbox and our fingers touched.
If you need anything else, please let me know, I told her.
There were tears in her eyes; I knew I had reached her.
She was a beautiful woman, I saw her empathy in that moment.
What kind of monster did this to her?
pain, red fireworks
exploding, burning, searing —
hours, days, months, years.

The victims' blood is violently splattered,
As his reputation is totally shattered.
Sycophants to the hills have all scattered,
What happened in the past really mattered.
"Oh, how you splinter me...."
Looking, through your looking glass
Portraits, of your present
And images, of your past
You say you see
You say you know
You say you do
But really....
You don't!
You sprinkle your sugar
You sputter your spatter
For all of those as yourself
To whom, it doesn't even matter....
Wrapped in your paper
And wrapped in your chatter
These monuments and pyramids
Of your self, absorbing...."Splatter"
Your purposeless, and your pointless
Pitter patter....
Your lines, they are divine
Your words, they are immense
But unto me, they do all seem
Void....And teetering
Upon the pretense!
Standing in front of you now
Staring, into your eye's....
You tell me that you do
But I do, wonder why?
Peering through your window
Looking through your glass
Your visions, for tomorrow
Should your yesterdays....They pass!

Soft orange light permeates moist skin;
Cascading down through
Wild Sun-bleached locks
Tickling zig-zag patterns
Across a small round chin.
Warm splinters of sensations spread
As droplets dribble;
Reverberating in skin-prickling dendrites
Little-by-little
They weave through each other
And gently cause
Hair follicles
To stiffly pause.
Wide eyes venture
Spirit Soars
Light blustering breezes bump
Against sun-stained sores
Crawl across stretched toes
That tangle themselves
In cool
Wave-weathered sand.
-Quickly-
Specks of sand-water elevate
Tanned legs carry eager faces forth
Blistered feet lift nimble bodies
In joyous grins
Sand-splattered faces contort.
Duck, dive! Roar, rout!
Leap, lob! Sprint, shout!
Joyous grins wear sand-splattered faces
Sand-splattered faces free from doubt.
Loud and Proud,
But Quiet as can be.
Happy, then I Cry and Complain...
This is what You do to me.
Make Me act all Crazy, and
Always keep Me Confused.
At times I wanna make You leave,
But, somehow, I'm still Amused.
And You haven't the slightest idea,
Of what I'd do for You.
If Only You'd Admit,
That You want Me too.
