Premium Member Salt Fish
Listen to poem:
Fish dewatered delicious
is sucked dry with salt
its flesh assaulted
rung out, and dried stark stiff.

Wishes like fishes rise in expectation
that hopes and dreams will flourish
but knock-backs, rebuffs and rejections
desiccate dreams with onslaught of salt,
shrivelling wishes, wizen to salt wish....

Flotus
you didn't ask to be put on point
didn't want more than you already had
didn't see why it needed to be
but we did

quietly, you make your mark
no transgressions on your part
no transcendence, no parade
rebuffs around every corner

carry on, you beautiful girl
head held high to this bleak world
do your best and leave your stamp
the elegant ones always d...

Premium Member Marbled
Most hearts are marbled with the fat of prejudice.
Some more than others.
Some have a heart that beats lean.
Like a white rose in the summer heat.

Others have more fat than heart.
Theirs beats much more slowly.
Rebuffs all visions of love.
Every beat billowing a bolus of hate.

How to burn this fat off.
Lob a heartfelt prayer to God.
Then wait...sometimes indefinitely....

Premium Member Umbrage
Our soul's ascent has nothing to do with age, if as yet dark animal instincts prevail, that on facing rebuffs, heart still takes umbrage, unable to quell raging fires that assail, recognising not that life is but a stage, where if we're detached, we may joyfully sail. Let's forgive transgressors as we breeze through life, in time dissolved stillness, at all times bliss rife. 02-November-2022

Unsaid
The exclusion that rages
within my cauliflower of sparks
screams the howl of the pariah
scraping all rebuffs for meaning
to find only lonely betrayal

at the end of your shackle
indignant in clang and shape
as if you’re the blushing victim
slumped in the cold undergrowth
in need of rallying friends

and the trappings of scorn
unfounded with wild stories
flying loose without the truth
revealing such banality of insanity;
more drama to fill your void....

Premium Member Dragonflies And Rolling Boulders
Frequently left with no logic
when wet with amorous magick;
Dragonflies and rolling boulders,
cohesive thought left in embers;

A soft touch in heavy silence
leads to an act of defiance;
Locked up with metallic handcuffs
you won’t hear me utter rebuffs;

To follow the heartbeat in me?
They may say it’s a bit crazy;
Arrested ‘cause I won’t comply,
I’ll plead the fifth with no reply;

In love we’re outlaws of reason,
flames burn into acts of treason....
