demeanour relaxed and affable
he was not a dancer, yet performed a jig
return gift an ivory photo frame for each guest
the painkiller shielded his terminal illness
dance of death enacted in jest...

Autumn
Autumn leaves
flutter
and fall
twirling in a
danse macabre
their scattered colors
brilliant, lay
in mock repose
and dry decay
lawn’s mosaic,
lowly cloak
they wait their turn
to go up in smoke...

A Church Clock
a church clock
shows the midnight hour - -
graves open

death plays
a tune on his fiddle - -
skeletons dance

kings and peasants
hold hands and dance in circles - -
a cock waits

Shutters
When screaming silence
invades,
this hand that captures thoughts.

In doubt of worth,
when nothing is still more
than me,

Shutters closed upon dawn,
I breathe darkness,
taste injustice, spit bile
upon virgin sheets.

Satisfy this void,

and shutters rise
to greet myself....

Silence Sings To Starless Souls
Silence sings to starless souls
A melancholy tune
One that plays on endlessly
For those who've left too soon

Their danse macabre remains unseen
By those with mortal eyes
Though we will learn the steps one day
And twirl 'neath unlit skies

Sway with abandon, lift your feet
Whenever the churchbell tolls
You soon will move to the melody sweet
Silence sings to starless souls...

Danse Macabre
Bite the bullet brave voyagers of war's wailing screams and cries
which terrify not few fighters that tremble not at new nightmares dreamt in somber tents.
The circus invokes its skull clients to its danse macabre.
Behold the skull's countenance contemplating thy face,
seeking to crown thee some forlorn day.
I will dance upon the fields of thy grave,
I will smile at your progeny,and take to wife thine daughter;
And together we shall partake in life's debauchery....
