In the time of martyrs

My heart is racked with so much pain
For one who garnered admiration and disdain
A man whose love for country did outpour
A man who loved his Savior more
His values went against the grain
He stood for all that’s moral and sane
His calling? To proclaim the truth
To ignorant and misguided youth
He taught God’s love and never hate
But his political incorrectness sealed his fate
A fiend of hate from the party of love
Was ready to kill when push came to shove
He was far too evil to agree to disagree
So he shot Kirk dead before his family.
From the party of love came nothing but cheers
Validation, threats, mockery, and jeers
Because tolerant is a wonderful thing to be
Lest it is a truth for which you disagree
But what can you expect these days in the West
Where only degenerates truly know best?
Where the only approved speech is shibboleth
And penalty for speaking the truth is death
Farbeit that Kirk will die for naught
There is still a holy war to be fought
No matter the cost, I will be brave
For the only place for the righteous is the grave.

REPENT

At a supermarket in Pa.
I couldn’t quite avoid
A MAGA-hatted tattooed guy
Whose shirt got me annoyed.

Beneath a giant cross, it said,
“REPENT!” (Can you relate?)
And after that, what followed was,
“Before it is too late.”

I think religion ought to be
A personal embrace,
Without the need to shove it,
Uninvited, in my face.

And though some freedoms, such as speech,
Have not yet gone away,
An order to REPENT! is one
I never will obey.

Nonsectarian
(for Charlie)

A friend asked me recently if I’m still a Buddhist
And I replied no
Without telling him I’m beyond labels.
To me Buddhism and Christianity are no different
In being just different expressions of dharma,
Dharma being Sanskrit for truth.

Today I heard a Buddhist prayer
Of wishing to become the kind of being
Who makes everyone happy to just see.
And I laughed out loud
And thought, “Hell yeah!”
I want to be that kind of person.

And not to just make them happy,
But to laugh, and play, relax and
Loosen the chains
That bind their heart.

I know I’m not that person today,
But I thought of someone who was,
And how all over the world
Those chains are now loosening
And people are feeling strong and free
Even as they cry in grief.

Premium Member The Greatest Trait

Among the virtues, one stands tall,
God exalts it above them all.
Those who profess to walk with God,
But lacks this trait, He deems a fraud.

When Christ upon a cross was hung,
heaven’s love song to man was sung.
God shared His heart; He made it bare,
revealed to us how much He cares.

Patience, perseverance, and hope,
when facing stress they help us cope.
Wisdom, fortitude, and courage
are valued traits in every age.

Humility, prudence, and faith
are traits that made the sages great.
Generosity and kindness
are traits of those who have God’s mind.

Compassion, respect, and justice
are worthy traits that foster trust.
Both temperance and self-control
are worthwhile traits to set as goals.

Assertiveness and diligence
are traits of those who high-posts fill.
Forgiveness is a trait of those
who truly God's forgiveness knows.

Both modesty and chastity
are traits that today seem passé,
yet, none among the noble traits,
the passage of time will outdate.

“God is love”, the Bible says,
and those who love, God homage pays.
So, Paul was right when he did state,
of the traits, “love is the greatest”

Premium Member Burn the book

Is religion just a rule book,
whose author’s intent we mistook,
reading not in between the lines,
creating divides hearts can’t brook?

God within us, for our love pines,
waiting for the day our soul shines
but since we dwell not in the heart,
we remain in ego’s confines.

Deeming all one and none apart,
shift to heart is the way to start,
knowing we are eternal light,
to behold which, is a learnt art.

Mind, we took as boon is now blight,
for it veils our aura bright white,
caging us in narrow belief,
dimming our spiritual sight.

Let us choose to turn a new leaf,
giving soul much needed relief,
embracing all, judging no one,
for our sojourn on earth is brief.

Let us here now then come undone,
for we’re the light that lights the sun,
dwelling in God’s heart, one with Him,
spreading love and light, having fun!

Premium Member The Hallelujah Highway

We sing and shout and chase that "Gold"

We make claims that "All" are Brothers

But "Temples" aren't just bought or sold

They're paid with the "Blood" of others

We dance the "Dance," then change our stance

While traveling down the "Bi-Way"

For those we "Bleed," no second glance

Down the "Hallelujah Highway!"

Premium Member Religion of Dog

(“Loyalty Merit Badge”, 2010, original oil)

Religion of Dog

Religions come in all shapes and sizes
Some good, some not so much.
But what would a religion of dog be like?
Kind, devoted and loyal, willing to please
And to defend, and be happily conditioned.
These would be the attributes of its followers
But what of the essence of its theological tenants?
Love, eternal vigilance, situational awareness
And of course joy
In a long walk or good play of tug or frisbee.
A religion of dog after all would be grounded
With it’s main focus the here and now,
Maybe not a zen focus
Maybe even more Dionysian,
But certainly within this
The values of family and pack
Would be supreme,
And this after all is not much different
Than all the human religions.
The difference which would make all the difference
Would have more to do with the wag.

one before dawn

awake usual thoughts
failures made imposed
turn others sleep
those like may also awake
guilt not helping light
rest night fears conflicts
wars doubts known not
all prepositioned
keep hope peace joy love
isolated chambered atomized
quarked vanquished
Lord Jesus maybe will
many claim dead still
resurrection appendage
little importance since
not fit soteriology
identity not body
only survives death
timeless eternity reincarnated heaven
space sans time spent looking edge
those not yet arrived
waiting again undiscovering
one another simultaneously
except frozen eternity
Lord be raised embodied ongoing
time continued timely together
see those sleep those cannot
night pray
now three two hours
now one before dawn

Premium Member If Trump were to croak, say, by choking on a slice of papaya

If Trump were to croak, say, by choking on a slice of papaya,
how long before his ilk would see it as a heavenly sign and run it by a
biblical scholar who would then be given the imperative
to scour the Bible to come up with a plausible narrative
to prove that Trump's death was another example of a suffering messiah?

Premium Member Infinite Cosmos, Infinite God

The God who did the cosmos spread,
is still alive, he is not dead.
Nietzsche declared that God is dead,
No wonder he soon lost his head.

The vastness of the universe
declares this God to me and you.
Only a God who’s infinite
can create what seems infinite.

The concept of infinity
reveals a godly quality.
So, though the world seems infinite
yet only God is infinite.

Infinite God, showed Infinite love
Sent down his Son, from heaven above
Bore mankind's sin, died for our race
Infinite God, showed Infinite grace.

Finite man, let thy heart ponder
Should not God's acts, inspire wonder?
Into God's grace, you are invited
Let not his love, go unrequited.

Premium Member Gods of Gold

God, who created everything,
is God over both man and things.
Pure gold, diamonds, and precious stones
are among the vast treasures He owns.

When men refuse to worship Him,
their ego rises to the brim.
They make for themselves gods of gold,
like people did in days of old.

The gods of gold debase man’s soul
and on his spirit take a toll.
After he at their altars feast
erelong, he will act like a beast.

Worship of God lifts the soul,
transforms men’s hearts, and makes them whole.
The more men feast on God’s pure Word,
the more they become like their God.

Make not for yourself gods of gold,
for they will leave you in the cold.
They cannot give you what you seek,
but will sure leave you up a creek.

Turn to God who made your soul
He wants to cleanse and make you whole.
The gods of gold are all a fraud,
stop trusting them and worship God.

IF THERE WERE NO POETS

The world would drown in chaos
men devouring the scalps of men
where vices crown themselves as kings
and virtue fades into dust.

If there were no poets
faith would be stripped of breath
a story told by scholars only
no Bible, no Torah, no Quran.

It is the poet who shapes the world
not with laws of gravity or motion
but with tender reins on human hearts
keeping our wildness from ruin.

If there were no poets
no sacred texts would make a sound
no verses to stir the soul
no words to humble evil.

Premium Member Kaali's Disciple

A demonness turned disciple of a goddess,
Born in a form to show my true prowess
As well as learning to embrace my darkness.
I too am evolving into a cosmic enchantress.

Premium Member A Palestinian Genocide

Another American Colony
poisoned with venom and hate
Consumed by the world’s great religions
apparently, this was its fate

The Palestine homeland was stolen
by the powerful in our world
They took it and gave it to others
named it Israel, a new flag unfurled
Then created a thing they call AIPAC
for the funneling of funds every year
Take American taxpayer dollars
with each bomb that is dropped, they all cheer

The Parties all do it together
Jews and gentiles sign-off on the funds
Together with makers of weapons
we all pay for the bullets and guns
America’s funding a genocide
our Senators and Reps have no shame
As the people pay all of the taxes
together we share all the blame

Netanyahu, a villain and killer
has a bank that’s called US of A
Anytime that he wants to kill Gazans
AIPAC’s ready with money to play
As for Schumer, he has in his pocket
Booker, Jeffries and Torres and more
It is why he keeps running for office
to keep Israel funded for war

Now the Trumps plan a new Riviera
by Republicans they will be led
With American taxpayer money
they will build it on all of the dead

That Heaven's Rivers

That heaven's rivers
flow saying Allah
Went out philomels of Islam
whistles saying Allah

Sways tugba trees
Recites Quran also tongues
Elysum yard's roses
smells saying Allah

Some eats some drinks
Angels deal out peace
Prophet Idris measures dress
Stitchs saying Allah

All posts are from noor
All leaves are from silver
While streching branches
Concludes saying Allah

Brighter than moon, faces
Sweater than suger, voices
Eden's houri maidens
Wanders saying Allah

One who is in love with Allah
Pours teardrops from his eyes
Becomes pure in and outsides
Sings saying Allah

Whatever you wish, wish from God
Walk in this way with a guide
Parrot is in love with tulip
Crows saying Allah

Opened skies' doors
Full of peace all of those
Eight heaven's shores
Uncovered saying Allah

Ridvan is opener of gate
Idris is measurer of cloth
Drinker of Kevser sherbet
Quenchs saying Allah

Dervish Jonah arrive to your pal
Do not leave today to tomorrow
Morning to God's council
Let me reach saying Allah
