Premium Member Real Life Repeat

Man, there we were sitting in the front row,
this one night now a fantasy come true.
There is no way we could begin to know
in that moment what we would need to do.
A backstage pass you were able to go,
Prince let you in I had to fret and stew.
The Artist's spontaneous meet and greet,
woke up now I want a real life repeat.

Smile Between the Screams

When a mishap takes place...
I ignored it, and pressed on.
What else to do?
Grace is not always polished.
But I can smile between the screams.

If I stumble, that's how we grow---
and if luck feels absurd,
I'll chuckle all the way under...

Because every problem has a resolution
in its own time.
No matter how long it will takes---
I'm sure it won't last forever.

Life is simple, and full of beauty.
Do not complicate the gentle things
We never knew what comes next.
So live, and live fully.

Our life a horror movie they played to us in real life

Our life a horror movie they played to us in real life

In horror films black people die first
We always make smart decisions
And yet they still manage to find a way to erase us even in film
They don't leave us alone
Not in life
Not in death
Not even in fiction
They do this to show that no matter what we will always be trapped
That even if we follow the rules
We still die
We are still erased
That we still have no control
Over our own fate

We will always be puppets
To a system
That doesn't control by using string
But by barbed wire
Making sure every movement is painful
Making sure we have a slow and violent death
That with every breath
The barbed wire strips another piece of our flesh
Slowly peeling away our blackness

We are seen as the disposable one
In life
In movies
And shows
To be the one who helps
The one who saves
And the one who sacrifices
Their life
For their white counterpart
To make sure they get to the end

Where's our happily ever after
We always get the struggle trope
And when we ask to change the ending
They just say nope

Real Life Rescue

Yesterday, while walking home,
I saw some people who
Were gazing past the river rail,
But why? I had no clue.

Two cops were there as well and so
I looked to where they leaned
And saw the body of a man;
That’s why they’d intervened.

More people gathered and I learned
That he was still alive.
He’d either jumped or fallen;
No one knew if he’d survive.

Within mere minutes, boats arrived,
The rescue underway,
The efforts of our civil servants
Proudly on display.

They carried him onto a boat
Then to a nearby dock
Where an ambulance was waiting
For the stretcher down the block.

Up close, I saw he wasn’t young
And injured on his head.
I never learned if he pulled through
Or passed away instead.

It felt like watching as they filmed
A TV cop show, but
The victim, sadly, didn’t move
And no one shouted, “Cut!”

Leave of absence This is NOT a poem Just my real life

Hey all I know that I haven't been active on here for a while. I've been having some health issues lately that have been keeping me sidelined. That and trying to mentally prepare for a 7th major spinal fusion operation with revisional repairs to the current hardware already inside of my back. I'm about to be fused from shoulder blades all the way down to my tailbone. That's really going to make moving around fun. Another multi level neck fusion surgery is on the horizon as well. I'm going to be like Michael Keaton's Batman. Having to pivot at the waist for any moment... But I don't know if I can even do that when everything is done.

It's taking a toll on me mentally and emotionally. It's just a lot to process. I'll be back again, but I just don't have the creative juices that I used to right now.

Take care everyone

Premium Member Real-Life True Story

Once I wrote a really good poem
      My teacher wrote

   ‘Lightning doesn’t strike twice, Sam’
A 'D' in the course spurred my belated reply ~
                                 ‘I know, ma’am’

Real Life Trolling

When you were paid to recite a script,
do it well, but don't overdo what you were paid to do.
When you hate someone for a pay, just do it,
but don't take it too seriously.

Remember, there were others who came before you
and there are others who will come after you.
Don't do their job at once,
leave something for them to do.

Bad things they tell you may not be true,
find time to know the real truth.
But most of all, find a real job
Where you don't need to put down someone for a pay.

It Is Time To Live Together

What’s the reason of hate? To hide love?
All these feelings are real,
My mind manufactures only to be manipulated.
Afraid to love that’s why we hide behind “facts and language”?
If you’re tired of being lied to and you know it clap your hands.
if you’re tired of being fed a narrative to stop your thinking,
Can I get an Amen?
God is great, fear is a weapon,
Time to disarm the ruling class.
Basic needs of every human being, love, safety, and happiness.
Our resources have been hijacked, stolen, and being used to threaten. We are the people, and the people would gladly share with their neighbors.
Your land is my land.
The ones who seek ways not to share, scare instead console, turn lies into truth simply by repeating.
The world needs peace, and by god there’s plenty so everyone can have a piece.
Why are we so blind? Why are we so hesitant? The revolution doesn’t need to be a war but a realization that we are one by kingdom come as Earth as it is in heaven. Not everyone believes in the same religion but we all know god is real. Regardless of the differences in our stories and beliefs there is a common spirit of love, forgiveness, and righteousness we need to embrace.

Describing About Real Life

In real life, there's joy and pain,
A balance of sunshine and rain.
It's not always easy, but it's real,
A place where we laugh and sometimes feel.

There are moments of pure happiness,
When we feel we're blessed with success.
But then come the times that we fall,
And we wonder if we can stand at all.

It's in those moments that we find our strength,
And we realize that we're not alone at length.
We have friends and family to hold us tight,
And we know everything will be alright.

Real life is a journey that we all take,
With ups and downs that we can't fake.
It's where we learn and grow and thrive,
And it's where we truly come alive.

So let's embrace real life with open hearts,
And appreciate all of its different parts.
For it's in the struggles that we find our way,
And it's in the triumphs that we learn to stay.

The Real Life

We all blame life
Life is cruel, barbaric and unfair we say
That Life is an abstract concept
Each time we cursed her, we jinxed our stars
She is the collective us
She reproduces what we create
She regurgitates what we feed her
She is us , we are life !

Real Not Fiction

Real Not Fiction
A hole is a hole said the Mule
As he stuck his stump up a slapper
This saying was mirrored by another
Who told a story of his friends

And what recently happened
One long term friend has a gal
They’d been together 7 years
And planned to get married
Spending a lifetime together
Already lovers and more

You know how it goes
So to be happy in bliss
But a big problem arose
Another old school pal

Caused a fuss with the gal
Who was a guy before!
So now you’re a gal not a guy
How did that come about?
A trip to Thailand and cash
Lots of cash from her rich family

The school pal seeing the gal
Wasn’t aware of any of this
Just that he was in love
Happy and going to be married

To a gal who was once a guy
He was oblivious to this
Unlike the other ex-pupil
They gave the gal guy it
A week to tell her fiancé
All of the truth of they’d do it

I told the pal who knew them all
Make sure the guy who
Knew them all
Never killed the gal

Who was once a guy
Like the American one
What will happen
Within this week
Happiness or war?
A hole is a hole

Even if no kids
Reality not fiction
The Mule was right
