He had seen his chance and began making his way
Truly stern in his stance he wanted to have a say
As his whole mind went blank as he soon neared
But his heart soon sank as into her eyes he peered
So young was she reminding him of his own grandchild
Now this I could see how one today would be beguiled
With nothing in mind to say in not wanting to demand
Looking over towards his way he simply offered out his hand
She began to stop and look, in then slowly passing him by
As his own hand shook he knew something else he had to try
"He said I have a granddaughter like you, even the same hair"
She felt his words so true feeling within them such loving care
Then stepping off to the side the two began to slowly speak
Here there was no pride for in loving another you must be meek
And with that the light turned green and I had to drive away
At least that was what I had seen as for so many like them I do pray
