With my wife and kids, passing through
the Republic of W,
armed policemen grabbed me.
A nightmare I would have never dreamed -
my wife's expression, so strange it seemed,
dragged away while my children screamed,
I was no longer free.
They didn't tell me, all I knew -
it was because of my tattoo -
and so began my fears:
what would become of my children, three?
what would my wife think of me?
would she wait for me?
I whiled away the years.
I asked my guard who wore a frown,
what if my tattoo were upside down,
and why always, "us vs. them"?
Suddenly, in my nightwear,
I found it was only a nightmare,
but it taught me how to care,
awake in the land of M.
As I relax between the earth and the moon
My feet resting upon a star
I enjoy my midnight fantasy
In the realm where dreams are formed
Adorned in stately nightwear
Eyelids closed in slumber deep
I sit watching someone's comet go by
It's tail lightly touching my cheek
The earth and moon revolve around Me
In these moments so serene
Sunlight casting ghostly shadows
of me relaxing in between
Disappearing briefly
As the earth and moon pass by
But when the morning comes
And daylight pulls me from my sleep
I will retain this midnight fantasy
Because it's one I wish to keep
It's Monday morning,
bed's soaking wet,
slept deeply,
drenched in sweat.
As I arise
I feel the cold,
a needful thirst
takes a hold.
I slowly peel off
my sodden nightwear,
then throw it on the floor
without a care.
Looking for some clothes,
I need to get dressed,
nothing's clean,
feeling stressed.
Squeeze into my jeans,
flab's overhanging,
rushes out the door,
poor head's banging.
Looks up at the sky
it's very overcast'
hoping this gloom
goes away fast.
I jump into my car
and quickly speed away,
got to get to work,
same thing every day.
One second to spare
as I punch in my card,
with my boss angrily
staring at me hard.
I try not to look,
as the minutes tick away,
wishing they'd tick faster,
wishing for midday.
Midday is here,
now I get my break,
all hot and sweaty
with chronic back ache.
This Monday morning's
over and done,
bring on the rest of the week....
now the week has begun.
If i was a mermaid I would frolic
on the white crested waves
appearing from the shore comic
then plunging down to the caves
Sunbathe on the warm rocks
diving down out of sight
so as not to give any shocks
nor frighten humans into flight
My voice so golden entices
if they follow a watery grave
will keep them in its clutches
until they are now enslave
Beauty of the oceans wide
pearl necklace I do wear
shells and seaweed applied
I don my translucent nightwear
As I travel the oceans like a flash
yet another heart or three i captor
although they struggle and thrash
I place them safe in my ardor
So warn your men least they stray
to wear a blindfold and mufflers
and to walk only on the causeway
only thus can they avoid my amors
Hair done body waxed to silk
Expensive scent soaked body
Skimpy satin nightwear draped
Boy she will love this
