Arrived alive
departed dead
and the same
may be said
of all who tread
this weary world
of ours
less a milestone
more a speed bump
each Birthday
I perceive
and poetry
is but one way to fill
the waning hours for me

Milestone
In the midst of striving with fate,
Searching for dreams that debate,
Here’s the reason not to be afraid,
To try harder and not hesitate.
They’re celebrating milestones in life,
The smile on their face shines, like winning in light.
With glittering eyes and curving lips so positive,
The dreams they’ve drawn are now real, fulfilled.
Crying isn’t always gloomy,
It means another life that shines brightly.
Thinking of a reason to live life to the fullest,
Genuine love as the light that brightest.
The laughter that brings others happiness,
The embrace that gives the feeling warmest,
A hug that touches the heart with faithfulness,
Eye to eye, sharing a love so pureness.
Every love in their flickering eyes,
Struggling sometimes, yet it’s the prize.
The mouth that opens unpredictably,
A heart that beats with excitement and warmly.
Realizing something—the want, not the need,
The so-called freedom offers another lead.
It’s about commitment, it’s about decision,
It’s about something in everything, bringing the conclusion.
On this day of February 2
My reflection back to reckon
The number is 68
Numerical to appreciate
When I think of all my trials and tribulations
My hand is raised in PRAISE without hesitation
Walking in my own blessing
Mercy and Grace
Honor from Heaven
Chosen
Death could have stopped by
Living with every try
When the praises go up, the blessings come down
Living and Breathing Among
Father in Heaven, you are the one
Thank you for life and guided advice
Spiritual like sugar and spice
Firm Foundation
They say when life is on the dearth of faith,
And you know you've then made the growth,
Maybe that's what it means to get.
Strive, strive and let it come,
This is your moment to choose the ultimatum,
One last chance and a one last try,
Take your spirit through the run.
The moment of glory when the world shall see,
What it takes to be called SUCCESS.
My sizzling heart failing around the clock
No light colliding with the dark to spark
But essence dying passively through the dim
Dream's wall burning by the fire of terror
In a second, a sharp arrow infiltrates the soul
And silently overflowing blood around its artery.
Nothing emerged than an insane time,
Everything not set as materialised
There are volatile inheritance bloodstreams
Follows to end up with a quiet destination.
What a life ushers for nought...
No, no satiety to purify the lure in life.
Look at the moon shaded by a cloud
A hard rocky cloud
Cosmos horizon...
Never has it appeared over the sky
Even ancient times have yet to happen.
A silent mourning overthrows the time
A path continues to the graveyard
And I found a frosted body lying
cuddled with dreams.
A scamp life left behind the snag...
A presence of fervent destiny, a final milestone!
How could I not love the level to which you live life perfect, so insouciant
You would walk beside me in heavy rain, with no umbrella; to contentment
We are both happy with our makeup, souls binded in water so succulent
A combination of an unlikely myriad, to which we equally compliment
Each other in a way that no one else would find the same contentment
You are simply a convivial representative for my life's failed acknowledgment
I hope you find this to be your own; a beautiful milestone of combined sentiment
Today marks a milestone
Highlighting life's style shown
A classy, sophistication few women have ever known
An aura shining brightly that is all her own
No longer a child, into a woman she has grown
All the beauty, grace, & intelligence she has shown
Prepares her for the day she must stand on her own
Does she realize she will never face this world alone?
A mother's love is a strength that is written in stone
Forever, will a mother's bond remain a skipping stone
Guiding her daughter as she journeys into a world unknown
An elegant lady transcends from the childhood she has outgrown
Like a mighty Queen sitting atop her ornate throne
Anywhere is everywhere, captivating all places through which she has blown
An Angel, she rises above the challenges out of which she has flown
On a pedestal she will forever emanate radiance outshone
Destynee, an alluring beauty the world has never known

You spoke a new language
of rarefied air
guided nonchalantly
through curving channels of brass
Conduits of cool
juries of jazz
floating past soulful valves
harbingers of what will come
Slender fingers
improvising storylines
magistrates of melancholy
bailiffs of bop
Miles from the mainstream
a milestone of
modern modalities

& I am proud of my 100 poems goal but as this morning I HATE how this poem ends. Stay tuned for a much better ending.
This poem is not about apples
although their skin is pretty red,
and its not about bananas
with their taste so sweet and true.
This poem is a celebration
because I hit a milestone today
I have written 100 poems
and I think hip hip hoary.
This poem is not about politics
whether they are left or right.
Its also not about religion
but,I will say that Jesus is my light.
100 poems is just the beginning
there is plenty more to say.
Milestone moments are events that come alive,
moments with my Maker, my plane in nosedive.
Miles of errands, mile-high; but on God I wait.
He provides just what I need without my mate.
Moments with my Maker help me to revive.
Most days need six more hours merely to survive
like yesterday when the car chose not to drive.
Thank God for a friend who took kids off my plate...
Milestone moments
Summers are the hardest, long days in this hive,
except for sports and music lessons, all five.
One night last week, my oldest girl had a date,
she couldn't leave the kids' cause I was running late.
Her special date stayed with her till I arrived.
Milestone moments
April 26, 2022
Yellowish-red leaves falling
Persuaded by the weather
Carried by the wind
Falling
To the ground
To the neighbourhood
To the lane
To the river
On my palms
Oh
What a beautiful zig-zag shape
What a dazzling colour of the sun
Is to be kept
Just as a memory
Sad or happy
Is an experience in the life we lead
A milestone of the journey on earth
Moreover this special leaf
Is a memory of
The happiest journey
With my sweetheart
On this foreign city
I've tallied my poems up
and this be milestone of poem number fifty.
So this triolet is a small victory dance
I've tallied my poems up
the love of poetry is a small romance.
My goal is 100 poems, then a published book.
I've tallied my poems up
and this be milestone of poem number fifty.
Today I crossed a milestone in a most eventful life
Fourscore years of wonder in a world awash in strife
I’ve kept a sense of humor in the face of utter gloom
Honored my commitments, married an incredible wife.
I’ve lived through awful wars and horrible pandemics
Frightening social upheavals with prejudices endemic,
But I’ve also seen a great many achievements for good
Encountered a majority of folks doing what they should
I’ve loved and lost, while enjoying many friendships
Along the way, and I can say, I’ve had a darn good run,
So when I go, I hope folks’ll say, “He surely did have fun!”
Please no tears when you learn I’ve bought the farm
I’ve tried to live my life without doing anyone harm,
I’ve done the best I could with what little I was given
I’m looking forward to a longer run, of course, in heaven.
