unbelievable
last ball game he’d ever see

I reside in a commune of exconvicts,
Lucky I was never convicted.
I reside in a hallway of rooms of addicts,
Lucky to live here unrestricted.
No paradigm of peace will ever dwell
Upon the land of evil and the outcasts
Who are not evil, but were born in hell
And this alienates them from the lucky ones
Who despise those unfortunates, believing
They’ve drawn the short straw they deserved for sins
Of their forefathers, which seems merely decieving
To the unfortunates, for they’re not welcomed in
The lands of lucky, and those habitants of hell
Don’t understand the laws of kinship from the Bible
And this exacerbates their fates so well
That makes them feel a bit upset about arrival
And so predictably they hate the lucky ones
And so the lucky hate those people in return
The only option left is to load up the guns
Expanding hell, for reason possibly unknown
The explanations become vaguer, there is no
Plain truth to tell, and every fool looks pensive
Although when killing is the only way to go
Both sides meet hell for being too defensive.
Today's the day Lucky Luke
trades his hat in for a tuque
not sure his fashion choice and flair
will still be a hit with ladies everywhere
A weary worn out start to the day.
Things to be done seem too far away.
A sip of coffee, a pill or two.
Get on the phone to talk to you.
Up and at it and on my way.
The game of life is now at play.
I arrived on time as arranged.
I walked in, my luck had changed.
An angel stood there ready for me to meet.
She kindly greeted me and led me to my seat.
Some days God shines down on you.
And basking in the light is all you can do.
Shelly had a lucky break once
She won thirty thousand dollars at a casino in Nebraska.
It was not enough.
A prime to her pump.
She has been trying to do it again for the past fifty years.
Shelly has never had enough money to buy a house.
She has never bought a car.
She lives with her daughter and her grandsons.
She leased a car for a while.
One week at a time, but she lost it.
Where did the thirty thousand dollars go?
She lost it to the casino the same week she won it.

On the road to Lunch Bucket Town
I met a grape, crushed and stomped down
I added some mayo said the stunned hound
Got lucky that day in Lunch Bucket Town
Off the wake-up, open my eyes and start seeking some clarity.
A never-ending search for ‘someone like me’
I guess I’m rich in rarity
No doubt, I have everything a girl could ever want
Starting to feel like I’m just my mom in a different font
What could I possibly be longing for?
My life’s one big blissful whirlwind-wind of whirl- feel like I’m just a very lucky broken girl.
Who to please? God or me? I know the answer seems obvious-but everything ain’t what it seem.
If it weren’t for my mom? Who would I be?
If I had time with my dad? Would I have more security? serenity? Something to ground me and surrender me?
Who to be? What to choose? In return, will I gain for what I lose?
Lie down and close my eyes, say my prayers, pray to God for some clarity.
Why’s nobody tell you you can yearn to such severity?
The woman who got a right man in her life is fortunate
That's the man who respects her
Love and protect her with his shadow
A man who stays by his side not only in good times
But also in bad times he's always there
Protecting her at her best is his best option
He never does such things that the woman of his life will suffer
The right man's eyes are always on the woman's happiness
Only one his addiction to ignoring thousands of beauties
He holds his hand tightly in any situation in life
The love of the right man is really beautiful
The love who got the woman is definitely a lucky woman.
She was depleted, drained, exhausted
But determined to live no matter what
Three days later her killer led police to her body
Except she was merely paralyzed, still alive
Lucky Day
As luck would have it I:
put on the last pair of clean pants
spilled cereal on them
realized I was late for a meeting
ran through a stop sign
did not see the state trooper sitting there
got a hefty fine
rolled into an empty parking lot
fell into a pile of mulch
ran into the office
found out that it was Saturday
in a fit of peak ran back to the car
and fell into the same pile of mulch
sped home as fast as I could
forgot about the state trooper sitting there
got another hefty fine
got home and breathed a sigh of relief
and said to myself this is my lucky day.
Lucky
lucky to see your smile
lucky to hear your voice
lucky to feel your kindness,
In every shared moment
Lucky to have known you-
even for just a season.
now you're gone.
Silence fills the space
Where laughter once was
And in you absence
I learned a truth.
Lucky to learn a lesson.
