Haft To My Cane

I was born blind
I know not my front or behind
I see none beyond my brows
My fantoms only heven knows.
Beauty a mere figment to me
For love i ponder what it can be.

I heard hope is like sunrise in dawn
In sheer darkness the light is born
But am awaken when the cock crows
For rays merely braize my empty brows
Foiling endevor to illuminate my sight
But the curse i bare an infinite plight.

Save your sorrow im blind for good
I have a vision too rarely understood
Paint my picture by words you say
Map my future by the love you pay
Yes you can
You can be the honest haft to my cane

Fear

I imagine you with the ten inch chef’s knife honed to razor edge

My eyes closed against the fear within, weeping for the danger without.

Your tender silk soft hand clenched tight ‘round the haft, a lily white wedge

Raised above my chest as I sleep, to plunge right down, hoping that I do not shout.

A Single Tree

A Single Tree
Steve L. Siegel
August, 2015
-:-
Up on the upper Hoh River there is a trail
Only two and haft miles long, at end of trail is a tree
Were it has turned into a cross all by Gods own hands
People have been coming up there for years to see.
-:-
There is no pastor up here
Only a log beam made into a bench
Where people come pray or meditate
Some getting closer to God within the tree’s reach.

Myself it was time for self-reflections
I knew that for me it was time to grow
Where I learned that a little rain must fall
Some-times for Jesus, so that I can learn to be the show.
-:-
I sure don’t know why this tree grew this way
By the laws nature it should not have
Nothing has ever hurt this tree
No fire or lighting has ever have.
-:-
I do truly believe that this tree
Has seen more people turn their lives around
Then any church or pastor on any Sunday
Maybe, that’s why God put this tree in this piece of ground.
-:-
Author’s Notes
This tree is for real it is a big spruce somehow instead going straight up
It has two branches that forms a cross.
It at Olympic Nat, Park, Hol campgrounds

The Staff

Cursed by the staff
Ill-fated is it's haft
Frigid hold
Blood turns cold

Ancient wizard of old
Cursed by wrath's mold
Staff untold
Darkest hymn, unfold

A guardian felled his soul
A natural orders death stroke

Kings woe,
A legend told
A kingdom takes a toll

Why Bother

Why, why, why, I reach out my hand, waiting, waiting, waiting, for someone to come, my arm is getting tired, my skin is bruised, the wind, the rain has taken its toll, the lighting and scorned sun has taken its toll.

I'm tired of standing on the corner each morning, with book bag in hand, hoping that I will maybe take a stand, my brain is empty of positive thoughts, only fog and dirty soil fills its empty spots.

I feel like those people who sit on the cold wet ground, a sign on their lap saying "free will accepted, give what you can." Everyone is passing me by, I'm just a beggar wanting a hug. Except its not money I'm seeking, but unconditional love.

Everyone is busy with their own lives, cell phones, I pads, new apple 6, is this what's important nowadays? I miss the old days where you get a hand written letter, that has loving words written by hand, why, why, why does it haft to be like this?

Struck Out

Why must we feel stuck, as if we can't get out.
Instead of positive on our minds, most are filled with doubts.
This life was never meant, to be easy for a second.
That's why before blessings, we are taught many lessons.
So many people, think they're alone on this ride.
Always seen with a smile but it's the hurt that they hide.
I am here to tell you, I promise that you're not.
All you have to do, is give happiness a shot.
We all walk by one another, passing on the streets.
Never knowing what that stranger, would give anything to defeat.
It really is not that hard, offering to help someone.
Do you not have struggles, that you wish were undone?
Why does one judge so hard, when they do not even know.
Why cut someone off, when there is so much left to show.
If each person in the world..gave one stranger a chance, life would be more beautiful.. From just a single glance.
When all we ever hear about, are the sad things and the bad.. It makes it haft to remember, the great things we all once had.
If you really want change.. You have to be just that, if you think the world has struck out, then maybe you're up to bat.

Dreams

Dreams are too daring,
with all those people staring.
Closing your eyes, dreaming those lies.
How can you live with your cries?
all the time you have is in your eyes.
dont let someone dream for you,
your dream could be a dream come true.
But they also consist of nightmares,
monsters that try to find your true fears.
things try to come out and make you have doubt.
the times you say, but dont have a way.
all the hatred you have, it can all go away.
all you haft to do is dream.
Dream of that once apon a day.

When My Mind Begins To Wonder

When my mind begins to wonder
My feet began to walk,
Ideas hit me like lighting,
and my visions as blurry as smeared chalk.
Lord knows I’ve been trying to do right and it got me so bored I can shout.
I need to get out!
But if I do I become another soul lost in the night,
Feeling as if things are either too easy or too hard for me to think of change.
So I maintain by allowing things to remain the same
I know haft of the things I do are wrong,
Yet in my mind it’s all part of the game,
When my mind begins to wonder it’s on
