WORLD PEACE - This is a repost of my poem. It
is in my first published poetry book. Little Daisy Poetry by Daisy Meadows. Available in paperback edition or ebook on Amazon:
WORLD PEACE
W World Peace is needed today!
O Only be kind and loving please!
R Remember to be mindful in what you say,
L Life is so short,
D Don't waste it away.
P Peace, tranquility and a kind thought,
E Every life is precious,
A And respect is needed,
C Consideration, and don't be vicious!
E Everyone, PLEASE BE KIND!
Wishing you all a wonderful day!
I was happy to have my poem mentioned by celebrity hair
and makeup artist Wonderlandhairandmakeup-Alice Theobald, yesterday
on Instagram!
IF I CAN CAST A SPELL
If I could cast a magical spell
I would have a world,
Where all is well.
It would be erased of all distress,
A world of love and peace,
Such joy and happiness.
A friendly world,
Full of smiling faces,
No hatred!!!
It would be a wonderful place,
To be there for each other,
After all these difficult times,
To be loved and respected,
Would be just fine!
BE THERE FOR EACH OTHER.

Rigged Up
Laid out to pasture the company doesn’t want us
We don’t get our severance pay so we turn on them
Like they turned on us the day they made us sign
We belonged to them then and we were slaves
Made to work in the forest cutting down trees
Or in the lead mines manually extracting the ore
We found Uranium and rigged a crude bomb
Soon the company will all be in flames
We all will be free of their evil tentacles
Even the dead who now are in peace

Thank you;
Like golden-brown honey,
Clear and sweet,
Dripping from my lips
To Your heart.
Thank you;
Like the laughter of a child,
Innocent and vivacious,
Bubbling from my mouth
To your heart.
Thank you;
Like the melody of the morning,
Hopeful and thankful,
Ringing from my lips
To your heart.

LEANING
Old man and woman
locked arm in arm
neat dressed beige
sweetly leaning in
towards each other
backs now to the world
hard to tell who is leaning
on who but their faces
are towards some exit
smiling private O.K.s
…we’ve seen it all
we’ve done all’s to be
what matters is we are
together now as we were
then and now to the end
every leaning step earned
and paid in full with life

SPHINX
you silent riddle
of the lion stars
ancient in mystery
staring at omega
in a terrible patience
stone eyes are fixed
at civilization fractures
ground down by hubris
all human history's here
in these stinging sands
stone maned lion
symbol of king solitude
patient as a Bedouin
tending his camel
such appetite for code
unbroken in timeless
stare hinting fury is near
awaiting a new born
generator of myths
even in techno-chaos
you are in our midst
patient as a caravan
tented under stars
Stone Sahara Lion
image cut from ages
his appetite is time
his labor enigma
outlasts the flesh
as grinding sands
hums some meaning
in a stone head dream
of secret revelations
harboring a shadow
cast over our future

MOON LAUGHING EAST LIKE A WINE SOADKED POET
(9/12/05 - Somes Sound, on Mt. Desert Island)
A spilled red wine jug on the deck
my black dog “Imus” warms my bare ankles
stars sketch symbols in the ancient dark above
Somes Sound's Luna tides’ ritual movement
in my fertile solitude I am practicing an art
of taming this clawing rage in words tuned
to poet cryptic outer zone enlightenments
that will create a monument equal to a heart
made from the love beneath this wild moon
laughing east like a wine soaked poet

ALLEY CAT
The city alley kitten is fire boned
body electrified in barbed wire fur
snarling ferocious wild fear bigger
than its raging dot of an existence
hissed from behind garbage cans
at this naïve boy also determined
to make this kitten a pet upstairs
in our three room cold water flat
armed with a trapper’s cardboard
box trap and work gloved hands
I did snag the little hell fire fur ball
and then spent the next pain days
upstairs with my step father’s help
again trying to get at the tiny fire
beast now out from under the tub
and soon a scratched denouement
fire ball kitty gloved back in its alley
dark and trashy and I nursing a fang
bit clear through the thick work gloves
into my thumb nail to keep the lesson
about allowing wild things to be wild

SUDDENLY The LAKE
This joyous lunge of spirit
when green forests suddenly part
and reveals a precious liquid animal
bathing its wind scaled body
healing its summer craft scars
chameleon element locked in grey
contest we both the cloud imprisoned sun

Have I got
A long way
To go?
Have I got
A ton more
Poems to write?
Have I got
A lot more
Days in this slow,
Freezing hell?

The end?

I
Most times
Wish I would die
And get this life over
Its just forget to
Send my soul
To the end
And now I’m
Gonna be free
Oh joyous me
I am both
Sad and happy
Depressed
Delusional
Diverted
Need some time
To digest
My disgust

So today
I wrote a song
And I don’t know
How to play it
In my head
Or that guitar
