fighting hate with hatred
leaves us hateful and hated
Matthew 5:44 But I say to you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Some have approached me cloaked as a friend,
But friendship is respect, and truth that don’t bend.
They were just “Cat Fishing” for what could be learned,
And now find me chilly because my trust was spurned.
They betrayed my trust causing me to question why?
But God forgave me, and to his command I’ll comply.*
*Matthew 5:44-
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
*Ephesians 4:32-
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another,
Even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
Staring into your dark coloured eyes
Reading between your lashes
Your sick and despitefully lies
They were fond of you being popular and of your image
To me you are scary a child of satan in disguise
So i don't have to care
That our friendship did not stand
Only wondering
How long you can look at yourself in the mirror
How much time before you will end
So what if I feel I've been wronged,
I know whose In am and where my heart belongs.
I may have had my feelings hurt but quite a few,
I could do wrong and rebell, but it is righteousness that I choose.
I have been yelled at, cursed at, ridiculed, and shamed.
My guardian, my protecter with me so I felt no pain!
Some despitefully spite in my face, their aim didn't touch my heart;
I was shielded by His saving grace.
"So what", I ask; if I've been wronged? I know whose I am and where my heart
belongs!
Love your enemies,
And do good to those who hate you.
Avenge not yourselves,
But bless those who curse you.
For those who despitefully use you
And persecute you, pray,
And forgive those who sin against you
And respond to you the wrong way.
Even when you think they should know better
Than hurt you deep inside,
Be not offended, but love God’s law
And receive His grace for thorns in your side-
Having this mind that was also in Christ,
Who when wounded and crucified for you
Looked up and said, “Father, forgive them,
For they know not what they do.”
A tempest tossed rage, a river of anger,
fueled by cruel haste, despitefully using,
losing my hope, as so it seems.
A tempest misplaced, emotions confusing,
where do I turn?, and where do I go?,
thier is no shelter, anywhere in sight.
A tempest engulfed, with a love so deep,
overcoming sins doubt, that's rendered useless,
turning to Jesus, my shelter I find.
A tempest no more, not yet out of sight,
searching inland, in a heart that's true,
following Jesus, down a path lit bright.
